Highest lvl pokemon before vsing E4?

    What was the highest lvl you got your pokemon to before vsing E4?

    Mine was on Emerald and it was Mightyena lvl 80 (i did a monopokemon run)
     
    My starter was level 85 and all my others were around 80. That was in Crystal.
     
    It was in Firered when my Charizard was lv. 71 and the rest of my team was at their 50's. Gosh, why did I grind so much then? XD
     
    When I played through my friend's FireRed for him, his Charizard starter was over level 70 when I arrived at the Indigo Plateau.

    FAIL.
