Hippopotas and Water Pulse?

I happened to come across a Hippopotas that knew water pulse at a Colosseum, and it seemed strange.

Can this happen, is it some egg move? Or was it just weird O.O

They really do make quite a few mistakes with pokemon learning moves.

I don't know if it was fluke. Hippos are water/land creatures, so they might have done it to stick to it's animal roots.

If you notice from the anime, even touching water took it out of commission for a few.

Then again, one should never mix the anime and games together.

Yeah, like Swellow can supposedly stand up to Electrical Attacks, but in the Games, that doesn't happen...

Anime and Games are two separate Worlds....

Its not just a hippo, its also a Pokemon ;P

But again, the anime and games have so many conflicting things that it makes you wonder if the Producers of the show even talk to the Programmers of the games.

Yeah, it makes sense that they should give it some Water type moves. I personally thought they should've made it a Water and Ground type.
