Holiday Music

Now, the holiday season is a few months away, but some people (such as myself) prepare for them early, despite the fact that even though they're two months away, those two months really fly by when you look at it by the time they pass by. So, my question to you, when do you usually start listening to Christmas music willingly? I mean, sure they come on the radio, like, right before Halloween at some areas, but when do you sit down at your computer or wherever you spend your time listening to holiday music and willingly turn it on?

As for myself, I've started listening to holiday music a few days ago. Though, I wouldn't say it like its a real big deal. Mainly because the only songs I'm currently listening to at the moment are tracks from Aly & A.J's Acoustic Hearts of Winter. And even with that said, its only a few select tracks. Normally, when I really start getting into the holiday spirits, I start overplaying the Trans Siberian Orchestra tracks I own (despite having most of their albums, I only enjoy listening to about four of their songs).

So yeah, have you started listening to holiday music yet? If not, when do you normally start? If you are, when did you start? What are you listening to?

I have a Jewish friend who always invited me to his family holiday get-togethers, so I know a bit of Hannakuh music.
As for Christmas music, I'll listen to it all year round. I usually resort to the Vince Guaraldi Trio and Miles Davis's "Blue Christmas" for that Christmas nostalgia.

Usually after Thanksgiving. Love Destinys Childs Christmas album ant Lady Gagas single, Christmas Tree that she released last year.

I've honestly never willingly listened to Christmas music (save a few tracks my family might throw on while we're trimming the tree). It's never even occurred to me before now that anyone actually enjoys Christmas music and doesn't just throw it on traditionally. Mind you, I'm talking about songs like Hark Now Hear the Angels Sing and Twelve Days of Christmas, so maybe I just haven't heard the right songs yet.

I guess I could give it a try, though. Any suggestions?

Uh, Silver Bells is on my new ipod, thats all though :(

to be honest i only listen to Christmas music on Christmas day...same with the other holidays.

I don't really listen to Christmas music unless I absolutely have to. The only 2 songs I'll listen to willingly are "Merry Fricken Christmas" by Friggin' A (describes my family to a T), and "Christmas tree" by Lady Gaga.

When November starts, I start sticking in the Kenny G. Christmas album. November is a tiny bit early, but it's better to start off earlier, because December always seems to roll by in the blink of an eye. The Kenny G. album is just a saxophone, but it's magical, nostalgic and perfect for Christmas. :3

    I also have the Martina McBride White Christmas album on my iPod. And the Christmas Canon from The Trans Siberian Orchestra. I listen to both frequently no matter what time of year it is, so it's not really festive when I listen to it in December. XD;;

About a week or so after November starts is when the radio stations start playing the music. I listen as much as I can, because when the music isn't playing, I'm not in the spirit. And when I'm not in the spirit until the last week of December, and then it's over, I think "YOU IDIOT WHY DIDN'T YOU LISTEN
TO THE MUSIC? YOU WASTED THIS SEASON. >:[["

So basically other than the radio, I don't listen to much else. XD; It's not as special when it's not the radio. ;3

I'm gonna get Winter Love By BoA On My MP4 And Then Some PGSM Christmas Songs.

I'm in band, so I have to listen to Christmas music from August XD

But I really don't listen to Christmas music willingly. I prefer my StudioForce any time of the year, kthnxbai.

I usually listen to Merry ****ing Christmas from South Park. But I'll admit, I have a soft spot for jingle bells.

I've worked retail at this time of year so any lingering enjoyment I might have once had for typical upbeat Christmas tunes died back then. There are few things on earth worse than enduring 8 straight hours of pop Christmas songs while dealing with demanding customers. The only Christmas music that wasn't killed for me by being overplayed in stores is of the solemn, sad variety and that has no appeal for me. If I've got to listen to something "seasonal" I'd prefer it were like celebratory Hanukkah music and not so dull and kumbaya like hark the angels.

Usually from mid-November onto whenever after Christmas. Don't think I could listen to it right now, too soon for me. :P

I may seem pretty dull after posting this but I think christmas is ruined by all commercial stuff so im not in the mood :/

I usually start listening to holiday music by Thanksgiving, sometimes before that if it happens to be on the radio though.

I'll typically start listening to Christmas music around early to mid November. I like to get into the spirit before Thanksgiving. Same thing with putting up my tree and stringing Christmas lights around my dorm room, actually.

Radio stations around here start playing 'em early though, like the wekend after Halloween XD

I usually start listening to holiday music around Thanksgiving. Because that is when they start playing at work. XD I hear it blasting, but it is nice. And I got a Christmas CD I listen to during that time too. Dang what is it called..."A Very Special Christmas". It is a great CD. I think there are 4 of them out...so far I got the first one. I am thinking about getting a "Soul Christmas" sometime. That is a good CD too. My parents have that one.
