What is your opinion on Sword and Shield and Scarlet and Violet?

In my personal opinion, I feel they are severally lacking, especially for the technology we have with the Switch. Sword and Shield felt rushed and Scarlet and Violet feels a little barren despite the game before having some cool concepts!

I feel if they actually took the time to not RUSH their games, they would be better then what we gotten so far. The games are also mad easy now and don't provide much of a challenge like they use to, Diamond and Pearl remakes being an acception to this.

    But what do you think?

Imo they are fun and enjoyable games, but just lack polish. They're good games, but not great.
From the Switch games SwSh is the one with the least issues for me. Runs fine, never saw it crash. Can't say the same for SV & PLA.
I do have to say that I really don't like the picnic way of breeding Pokemon in SV. SwSh handled breeding and interacting with your Pokemon much better.

In my eyes, Sword/Shield was too predictable and linear (I actually called Chairman Rose being the real bad guy months before the game even released--you could've cut Team Yell, and the story would've still worked), Dynamax was WAY too overpowered (though cool), the Isle of Armor needed a better story and more to do (the Crown Tundra had a decent story). Plus, the game needed some things to do off the beaten path--I didn't like how the game was determined to keep you on the main quest at all times. I like a little linearity as a sense of direction, but enough freedom to go off the path and explore a bit. With Sword/Shield, it felt like I was following a script for a play.

SV had glimmers of potential, but again, there needed to be more to do outside of the three storylines. I didn't see much of a point in Terastalization, as you could finish important battles just fine without it. The world also felt empty, even though it was fun searching for item beacons in the field. The Team Star story wasn't very much fun, and was HARD--even at the "recommended" levels.

They're both underwhelming, but for different reasons. Sw/Sh had terrible writing, story, and characters. S/V had major technical issues, a glaring lack of clothing options, and an open world that felt strangely barren.

They're not the worst, but far from the best. And I have better games to play on my Switch, to be frank.
