how do i know if the pokemon i trained is good or not

Well there's a couple of options, you could test it out by battling with it via wifi with someone you know or random matchup. If it's EV-wise, you could go to the girl in Opelucid City who checks your EVs (whether you've EVed them correctly, she'll let you know), or otherwise just write down what you're doing when you've EV trained (so keep track of every battle you have, and make sure you read over B/W's FAQ).
