How do you convert music?

    Don't ask for a reason. XD;

    I need to know how to convert wav's into mp3's for free.
     
    I think you can use Media Player to do that, but I'm not sure.

    I know you can do it if you've got Nero.
     
    Also on iTunes you add the file to the library, right click it, and then "Convert selection to mp3".

    ...you could also check out Windows Media Encoder, and it's pretty good.
     
    If you can get your hands on a Creative sound card installer disk you could install WaveStudio. I use this for my converting needs. You may even be able to find it online somewhere. But the easiest way is to talk to one of your friends who has an Audigy card and get a copy of the disk. No key is required, and the CD is only used to install it.
     
    dBpowerAMP is the best MP3/WAV converter I've found. The basic version is free, and it works both ways.
