How do you primarily engage with the Pokemon franchise?

How do you mainly find yourself consuming Pokemon content? (be it playing the video games, interacting with the online community, collecting the cards, etc)

Either playing the video games or talking about them here, mostly. I've never actually played the TCG because I don't know anyone else who plays it (though I do have some cards, mostly from the late Hoenn and early Sinnoh eras) and I'm not a big TV watcher or manga reader.

Same as Explorer of Time: playing the games and posting here. Adds watching other people play Pokemon sometimes too. Varies on precisely what. Caught things like speedruns, a first playthrough of a new game, part of an Archipelago, a little bit of competitive stuff, or some challenge.

Playing the games, watching the anime, and of course engaging with fans. I collect merchandise too but that is more casual! The biggest thing for me is the community, I love engaging with people and that keeps my interest going strong.

95% is playing the games when I have the urge.

I also think this forum singlehandedly upholds my interest. Even when I haven't played Pokemon for months, I still come here to talk about it. So there's always a bit of reminder to return to the franchise eventually.

Almost entirely the games and being here. I haven't really touched the other aspects of the franchise in a long time, and what engagement I had with them never amounted to as much time spent on the games/PokeCommunity.

Mainly playing the games and posting here. I like watching some videos and reading leakes. At times, I like to follow some competitive matches.

Mainly video games, along with Pokemon Go. Another would be through TCG Live. Used to have a Gamestop in my area, to where I can talk pokemon with some of the employees, but got shutdown due to the pandemic.

Mostly downloading Leaf and Serena fanart.

I'll occasionally open up the games, but usually for only a fw minutes at a time. A few posts here (like this one) relate to Pokemon, but mostly I'm in Other Trivia. Pokemon doesn't seem to hold my attention as much as it used to, mostly because the quality of the games has fallen off a cliff recently. There will likely have to be a very impressive game in order to get me back into it.

Mainly video games and online communities. I have some plushies, as well, but haven't gone overboard on that/general merch or anything. lol

I'd say I generate more Pokémon content than the one I consume, at least from a few years to this time. I write fanfiction, do characterbuilding, worldbuilding and some forms of xenofictional theorycrafting, assist other creatives in their projects, that kind of stuff.

As for consuming, I love me some PMD games as well as Pokken. There should be more Pokken.

I'm not particularly interested in watching the anime or collecting cards/plushies, so I really only play the games (specifically older gens and spinoffs, not a fan of mobile games), listen to the music and interact with the community. As well as watching content from Poketubers like Shofu, Johnstone, PIMPNITE etc.

    Main games & their remakes
    A couple online communities
Rom hacks that catch my interest
Spin-offs that keep key aspects such as catching, raising Pokémon, team building, and turn based battles (like Legends). Otherwise I pass.
    Pokémon Go

That's pretty much it. No interest in TCG, serious competitive play, anime, merchandising, and other mobile games besides Go.

My immediate answer to this question would be the video games, it's just what comes to mind first, but it's not the way I interact with the series most often, that would definitely be the TCG, which I'll play weekly at the very least. The video games are something where I'll pick up one every few months or so.
I guess you could count being a PC member and talking about Pokemon here to be engaging with the franchise but I'll only ever post in Pokemon-related threads every so often.
I've also started getting into the anime again and will be keeping up with that going forward. So there's plenty.

It was always through the video games, but also because pokemon was popular at my elementary school growing up. Everyone I knew had a pokemon game, and it being the DS era meant it was the easiest time to get into the game. No need for that GBA link cable, as long as you had a DS and a game you could trade and battle your friends. It was like that for a long time. I also remember in middle school there was a library in walking distance that had a lot of the pokemon anime episodes on VHS, and I would spend weekends watching random episodes from the Indigo League. It even had the last episodes of the Indigo League and I remember being disappointed how Ash didn't win. For a while I did lurk at PC Forums with an older account but I never actually made any threads. I only made an account to download rom hacks made by the community. I made this new one because I wanted to have a fresh experience with this site and I have been enjoying it these last 2 years. I'd say the PC Forums have reignited my joy for these games that I got back into the franchise with Violet since my last experience was with Ultra Moon.
