I DON'T NEED SAFETY GLOVES BECAUSE I'M HOMER SIMP-

r.i.p frank 'grimey' grimes

I assume you've all watched at least one episode of The Simpsons, right? Hopefully you've seen some of the classic episodes and not the crap of recent years. Regardless, you have to agree that the people behind the Simpsons have created some television masterpieces in their 20+ years on the scene. So, what are your favorite Simpsons moments?

Spoiler:

From the third season to the tenth season (thereabouts, in both directions) is the best. Comedy gold.

After that point, the plots got outlandish. Repeatedly went for the first quarter of the episode is unrelated to the rest gimmick. And lots of celebrity cameos. I like the older episodes where the celebrities were character (Glenn Close is Homer's mom!) not when they had animated walkons playing themself.

Also, Homer didn't used to be a heartless idiot (which hit the pinnacle in the awful feature-length movie). He used to be a lovable oaf.

My favourite episode will probably always be the one where Homer tells the story of how Lisa got her saxophone. I don't know why but that episode has always given me such a warm feeling when I watch it, probably because it reminds me that Homer use to say "d'oh" and Bart had 'eat my shorts", also it reminds us all that Apu use to be a prominent member of the cast.

I could write a PhD level thesis on my love for The Simpsons, but I'll stick to an underrated feature for the time being: the songs! There aren't many days that go by in my life where I DON'T mention a Simpsons quote, but the songs are really, really good. I've been listening to a lot of them on YouTube recently and they all hold up. From Troy McClure in "Stop the Planet of the Apes! I Want to Get Off!" to the Music Man homage in 'Marge vs the Monorail' to the Homer's song to save the Burlesque House from destruction... All of them are so good and so, so funny.

I like "The Garbage Man Can" and "We Do!"

I always liked "Lisa, It's Your Birthday!" the most out of the Simpsons songs. Probably because it's Michael Jackson, but Bart/Nancy Cartwright/whatever name I'm supposed to address the singer in the song does a nice job as well.
Lisa, it's your birthday! Happy birthday, Lisa!

The seasons between 11 and 14 were my favorites because that's when I first started watching The Simpson and really becoming obsessed with it. Then the seasons before that are fantastic. I thought the movie wasn't bad, but it's not the best movie I've seen. Any season after the movie is alright though it will never be as amazing as the show I grew up with. I haven't seen much of the episodes after season 20 cause I started to become busy lately and never home when it's on. It's sort of losing it's touch, but it never ceases to entertain me.
One of my favorite episodes is the one where they go to Brazil. It always cracks me up when ever I watch it. (On top of, beneath) I don't know but I always love the vacation ones, even the recent ones cause Homer always has a way of screwing things up. The Brazil one is my favorite vacaton episode and then followed by the one where they go to Japan mainly cause I love Japanese culture. And to top it off, there's a reference the Porygon seizure episode.
Song wise I've always loved the monorail song and "Lisa, It's Your Birthday!", and probably my absolute favorites. I could go on more about how much I love The Simpsons, but I don't have enought time to go over all my favorites.

I'm pretty sure Jackson didn't sing the song. They could only afford him for the speaking parts. They had an impersonator perform the song XD

"One of Jackson's conditions for guest starring was that he voiced himself, but a sound-alike would receive credit. While he recorded the voice work for the character, all of his singing was performed by Kipp Lennon, because Jackson wanted to play a joke on his brothers and fool them into thinking the impersonator was him."
Well, how about that. MJ sure fooled me.

I like "The Garbage Man Can" and "We Do!"

I love those songs, they're from two of my fave episodes - "Homer The Great" and "Trash Of The Titans" from Seasons 6 and 9 respectively.

I stopped watching the series after Season 11 cos the episode plots got bad although I briefly returned to watch the 500th episode in March this year. Unfortunately, it sucked... (although I have an infamous avatar/signature theme depicting scenes from that episode).

The reason I stopped watching the show regularly was because of the new HD opening scene. It's just awful...

Most Season 6-10 episodes are among my faves.

My absolute fave episode of all time would be Season 10's "Homer To The Max". I loved the plot in that episode, especially Homer changing his name.

I still watch it once in a while but i watched it most weeks when it was on Channel 10 here
I enjoy the old simpsons more

The gun shop scene from The Cartridge Family.

"And this is specifically for shooting down police helicopters."
"Oh, I don't need anything like that... yet."

Just some of my favourite quotes and exchanges between characters:

Lisa: Do we have any food that wasn't brutally slaughtered?
Homer: Well, I think the veal might have died of loneliness.

And from the same episode...

Homer: Waitaminit waitaminit wait a minute... Lisa honey, are you saying you are never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?
Lisa: No!
Homer: Ham?
Lisa: No!
Homer: Pork chops!?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal!
Homer: Yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, maaagical animal.

---

Grandpa: I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was, and now what I'm with isn't it. And what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

---

Homer: Oh, yeah, what are you gonna do? Realease the dogs? Or the bees? Or the dogs with bees in their mouth and when they bark, they shoot bees at you?

---

Todd: Daddy, are you jealous of brother Homer?
Ned: Eh, maybe just a tad, Todd.
Rod: I'm jealous of girls 'cause they get to wear dresses.
Ned: One problem at a time, boy.

---

Homer: English side ruined... Must use French instructions... "Le grill"?! What the hell is that?!

---

Hutz: his is the greatest case of false advertising I've seen since I sued the movie "The Never Ending Story."

---

Homer: Lisa, vampires are make-believe, like elves, gremlins, and Eskimos.
