i'm at the part where you're trying to beat all the gym leaders in the blue berry academy to beat the brother guy (forgot name) and im at like 4/5 trials in legends arceus..

    please help motivate me haha

i was also thinking of replaying sword shield, considering how much i disliked these games... maybe my outlook has changed 4 years later?

anyways, please help motivate me... and maybe even chat with me :P

For blueberry academy I found it really refreshing to train up a new team to take on the battles there. Also, the Pecharunt epilogue is pretty cool to do afterwards.

For PLA you get rewarded with an Arceus! Which is pretty cool if you missed out on distributions for it. Also, if you have BDSP, you can get unlock the Spear Pillar event with Arceus if you have a completed PLA save file. Seeing that first hand felt really nostalgic for me!

You could try doing a theme team (i.e. monotype or Halloween based) or a challenge run (badge quest, nuzlocke, POC) on sword/shield to see if that makes them more interesting for you?

oh... i took almost a year hiatus from these games LOL. it's taking me a long time to beat despite having every intention to do so.

i think you have too? iirc it said to "beat them using pokemon caught in the stadium" thing.

that's really good to k now about PLA. might actually motivate me even more :P i traded myself a shiny piplup and cyndaquil from home and was using them in PLA.

i just really do like PLA even if i hardly play it. i'm also excited for the new legends game.

The only using Pokémon caught in the terrarium thing is just for Drayton's trial, and I *think* it's only when you're battling the trainers in his trial, not him himself. But it's been a bit since I've done that, so I could be mistaken.

Trading in those shinies for your team is a fun idea! I've always wanted to do that for second play throughs, especially with some of my shinies from pogo, but I've still never gotten around to it.

You could tell yourself that you can't get the new legends game until you finish the first one? 😅 Although it still probably won't be out for a while. Did you ever have trouble finishing older Pokémon games?

I didn't buy a Pokemon main line series since SwSh. My brother erased my Sword data, so I too, need motivation to slog through this game. I just beat the champion last night, and when I get to it, I have to do the post game + DLC. Trust me, it's so hard to find the motivation.

Do you really need a motivation? I think that if you want to drop a game because you don't like it, then it's totally fair and you shouldn't feel guilty about it.
Actually, maybe just like you were thinking to go back to Swo/Shi, in a while you'll desire to go back to PLA and SV.

Now, talking about my personal experiences, I loved PLA and were so happy to play it. I am a huge gen4 lore fan, so that motivated me a lot. PLA is a very different game from the usual ones, so it's obvious that it's not everyone's cup of tea.
SV instead was way worse. I find it cool that the 2nd DLC was quite hard, but the story wasn't engaging at all for me. I had a hard time completing it as well. I advise using very strong pokemon, so you clear the battles as soon as possible and ask for people to trade pokemon to access the Perrin's mission.
