2 nights ago, I was on the internet all happy and stuff. All of a sudden I heared this wierd sound. I thought it was my neighbors, but when I put my ear to the speakers it was coming from the computer.

Last night, I went to Windows XP's official site. I went to support and searched for a virus troubleshooting thing. Then there it was. It said I had to get a antivirus protecter. I got Norton Antivirus 2005, it came with the computer because my uncle knows how to fix it.

The wierd sound continues as you read this.

    Please help!

turn off your speakers, restart your computer.
if the sound is still there, run this online virus scan:
    https://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

then run this online spyware scan:
    https://www.webroot.com/services/spyaudit_03.htm

download & install the free software ad-aware
    https://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
    and scan for adware.

norton is a piece of crap, i speak from experience. run what virus protection you can just to be sure.
what you describe might not be a virus at all but it's good to do these things anyway.

The computer wasn't hot was it? Because my old computer let off an alarm when it got hot. Although that was from the motherboard.
