If you have the chance to go to Haiti, what would you do?
Would you even go at all?

I would go to Haiti to help out because they are still suffering from the aftermath of the earthquake. Its very sad to see them on the news crying.

No. I like to avoid hepatitis infested water. I would maybe go to help out, but I would never visit. Place is a wreck, even before the earthquake, but now everybody notices.

Nope. If anything, I'd just be a detriment to Haiti. So I'm doing my best to help Haiti by staying away from it.

Noooooo. Haiti is the last place I'd ever want to go. I'd rather not get HIV/Hepatitis/Raped/Stabbed/Beaten.

An earthquake isn't going to make me change my mind about visiting. If anything, that makes me want to go there even less.

    No.
Do you think Haiti would have any concerns if the UK got hit by some big disaster? I doubt it. And besides we have enough people who needs money here to sort out their problems, we don't have enough as it is and we give it away? I know I'm sounding a little harsh but it's true.

Yes I am going in march with the church for a missions trip. We are going to the roul areas that the main relief hasen't reached and our pastors are bringing guns :P

I would definatly go. I'd hand out items like water and food, etc. And, I really need to see the disaster. Only in that way will I truly understand the pain it's caused.

Maybe I'm just rationalizing and being self-important, but I feel that my risking my life in Haiti would be a potential net loss. I already donate what I can to the Red Cross and other charity organizations (blood, money, and time), and once I get a high-paying job, there will be a lot more money going into their pockets. If I die in Haiti, they'll be missing a large potential revenue source, among other things.

Lol nooo way. Even if they had just got done experiencing a 7.0 earthquake, do you honestly think thousands more of unprofessional, U.S. (or whatever country you are from) citizens could possibly do more help than harm? It's enough to just take care of all of the people living there already (and even then, millions are still left without food or water). Yeah, it's sad; I know. If life were as simple as going there and handing out all of your food and water to them, I would do that; but unfortunately, as stated before, my presence there would cause more of a burden than it would an assistance.

I didn't want to go there before the earthquake. No way in hell I'd want to go there after the earthquake.

I have strict travel criteria and Haiti fails on pretty much all of it.

Yes any one can keep on orfan company or help a disabled person drink milk. You can also make sure that donations go to the people that need it. In haiti right now most of the donations from smaller organizations get stolen or taken by the strong healthy hations; which is a shame considering the disabled and orphans need it the most. The Earthquake created 4x the amount of orphans before, and increasing. Also the amount of adopted hations from America as 8x since the earthquake. but before the earthquake Americans were adopting 400 hations a year. But in Haiti there are thousands of orphans that lost there parents.

I would not go, for one simple reason. It isn't that I don't care about all the orphans and all of the Haitians suffering, it is just that I care about all the Americans more. Why? America is my country, and I personally think that helping my own country is what is needed. I mean, for one, the US is already in enough of a crisis budget-wise, so why waste all our money helping out another country? I just think that it would be more beneficial to our country to help our own starving orphans out. Then, once our own country is done and all fixed up, then we should help the other countries.

Personally i don't think our country does enough to help our own starving orphans and homeless people, so before it puts so much effort and time into another country, it should consider its own problems. I didn't like the place before the earthquake, and an earthquake isn't going to change my opinions about it.

No I wouldn't go to Haiti because a bunch of bad stuff happens there and I want to be safe.

I would refuse simply because I would not be able to aid the people in any way - I have no medical experience and I would probably be more of a detriment than an aid, simply because I would be another person the medical workers would have to move around. I can't even take care of myself well - how am I in any position to help those in both physical and psychological pain?
