    This fan-fic is rated PG-13 because of some swearing, violence, and some sexual content.

    I have been working on this story for quite some time, and I would like to say that it is turning out well. And now, after four months of planning and drafting, I give you:

    Into Eternity

    Prologue
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    2000 years ago...
    Julie sat, hunched over tales of myth and legend. She was buried in the lore of Arceus, the great being who is said to have created and controlled the universe. That was, until Arceus created lesser gods to help him manage the infinite universe.
    Arceus had created the gods, hoping that they would follow him forever and until space and time finally ran out. The gods believed him mad, and after creating world after world after world, they finally cornered Arceus and sealed him in a tomb deep within the earth.
    That planet where they had cornered Arceus had been Earth. The world where humanity had manifested along with a different race, pokemon.
    As Julie sat there reading, she was too intrigued by her book that she did not hear the soft footsteps walking up behind her.
    "Julie!" boomed a voice so loud, it made the ground shake. "Have you finished reading the fourth volume yet?" asked the man.
    "Uncle! I was so focused on my book that I had not heard you approaching," Julie said, obviously surprised. "Why," she paused. "No. I have not finished the Betrayal of the Gods," she sounded disappointed at herself.
    "It's quite fine child. I do not expect much from you. You are only fifteen anyway," Uncle said, attempting to make her feel better.
    Fifteen. I am nearly a grown woman, and still you expect nothing of me? Julie screamed in her mind. At that moment, Julie flashed a small smirk as if she knew something Uncle did not.
    "Anyway, i'll leave you alone know. Have a nice day!" Uncle shouted as he walked briskly out the door.
    Julie threw open her book, and eagerly flipped to a certain page she had marked. She gasped when she did not find what she was looking for.
    "Wha- This- This is impossible! How did this happen?" Julie screeched now that her uncle had left. On the page had been a circle with a triangle inside it. Within the triangle were words undiscernable to Julie. She had remembered it. There was nothing that could have made Julie forget that page.
    Her pale face turned to a crimson red as she attempted to find the page. Julie's brown eyes turned to black for a moment, and her auburn hair turned clearly blonde as well. Under her purple robe, the change was hardly noticeable, but her normally subdued aura flared out in that moment as if she had died inside.
    Julie attempted to control herself. She had poured her life into those myths, and now she couldn't find the page that mattered most. She then realized that spending her entire life, being dedicated to Arceus had been wasted. All for nothing.
    When she slowly and sadly leafed through the pages, once she had gotten to the marked page, she found that the spell was there.
    It must be magic! She thought. It couldn't have happened anyway else!
    Reading the cantation, Julie realized that she had no idea what she was doing. This could mean death, or it could mean even worse.
    As soon as Julie had finished the spell, she saw the brightest flash she had ever seen, and heard the loudest shrieking noise. When she looked up, there it was. Standing ten foot six, white and gold body glistening in the refracted moonlight, was the creature believed to be Arceus.
    Hello. Thank you so much for waking me from that dreaded sleep, Arceus said telepathically. Arceus had a raspy voice almost sounding like you would imagine a ghost. Those gods have no idea what I was planning.
    "Wh-What were you planning Arceus?" Julie questioned, with a little twitch in her voice. She was shuddering, but she felt miraculously brave.
    I was planning to create. I was planning to destroy. I was planning life. I was planning death, Arceus replied. That is a question I should be asking you.
    "I was studying your history, your life," Julie informed. "I do not mean any harm, and I hope you intend the same."
    Very intrepid. Very wise. I admire those talents. But, I cannot use any strength until I have what I need, Arceus explained.
    "Of course. Let these be the source to contain your vast power," Julie said. She grabbed all of her sixteen eating plates and placed them on the desk in front of Arceus. She also went outside, grabbed six crystal-shaped rocks and gave them to Arceus.
    Julie then cast a spell over Arceus, giving it power to put into the plates and the crystals. "These obelisks need to be found before you return to the world, so the gods may not hinder your living in this dimension. These plates give you power over any type. I hope you find these sufficient."
    I'm very glad that you are willing to help, and I am grateful. Will you come with me? Arceus asked.
    "I am glad that you offered me this, but I can not accept. I am too happy here," explained Julie.
    Arceus replied, Of course. Which is why i've decided to take you with me!
    At that moment, the portal opened again and Arceus gripped Julie. Julie squirmed and cast spells, but to no avail. Arceus had too hard a lock. She feared the end, but she would receive much greater punishment in the realm she was going to.
    Chapter 1
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    "Jake wake up! Jake wake up! Jake wake up!" the voice sounded over and over and over again. "It's Christmas!" the voice said again. It was a very high-pitched feminine sound to it, and once Jake's ears came online, he immediately registered it as...

    Someone stormed in to the room. Jake, lying on his bed which was only three inches off the ground, could see only pink, fuzzy bunny slippers, and the start of long, tan legs.

    The slippers moved at what seemed like the speed of light, yanked Jake's pillow out from under him, and started beating him relentlessly. "Wake up! Wake Up! Wake Up! Wake Up!" the high-pitched squealing shouted in rhythm with the beating of the pillow.

    Jake got pissed off a little while after the squealing started, and he quickly leapt out of bed and grabbed the little girl's arm. He subsequently took the arm behind the little girl's back, and pushed upwards so the arm looked like a backwards check-mark. The little girl screamed, and then started whimpering. "You do not, ever again, do that," Jake said in his pissed off tone. The girl nodded her head. "Good. Now you get downstairs and unwrap your presents." The girl's cry instantly turned into a ear-to-ear smile.

    God. Glad that's over. Jake thought. He hopped right back into bed, grabbed his blanket and wrapped it all around him. He stared for a long time out at all the white falling gracefully towards the ground. When the snow hit the ground, it began packing itself to become layers of cold, white goodness. I should get Khalil and throw a snowball fight. His sister and my sister against Khalil and I. Mehehe, he thought. We'd pummel them into next winter.

    After staring at the peaceful and soundless dawn for over an hour, he got curious over what presents he had gotten. His sister had been incredibly excited about it being Christmas, that he had only been concentrated about getting her out of his room, and he had not at all thought about what his sister was actually talking about.

    Jake then got a fresh pair of underwear on, and yanked his robe off of the hangar. He sprinted down the wooden steps, and flung himself on to the sofa. His parents were already sitting down opposite him talking about random stuff that grown-ups talk about (who understands that anyway?).

    Diving into the relatively small pile of presents, Jake found a tag with his name on it almost spontaneously. The package wasn't the largest one you'd ever find, but it wasn't that small either. He opened the present with caution, remembering the Jack in the Box that had scared him half to death a few years earlier, and started to see a tinge of red, when his sister popped right in his face. "I got a little toy doll! It's the girl with blonde hair and freckles that looks just like me!!! I'm so glad I got it!"

    "Yeah, that's great Em. Now, would you please let me unwrap my own present?" Jake asked with a bit of frustration in his voice. Emily then backed off, allowing Jake to see five pokeballs, all new and chrome. He shouted, and his parents nearly had heart attacks. He unwrapped his next present hastily, and found a rifle, but on a smaller scale. His dad explained:

    "We know how you've been wanting a gun, and your mom and I have decided that you're finally old enough to have one. This is is the new Tokohama TKJ-21, and it looks like a half-rifle, but it has twice the firepower. If you have impeccable aim, you can hit something that's up to 500 yards away."

    "Oh my god. Thanks dad! And mom, of course, but thanks dad!!!" Jake screamed. At that moment, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it," Jake said.

    "Hiya Jake. How ya doing?" A boy with blonde hair and bright blue eyes asked. He stood a foot taller than Jake, and his light skin even reflected the sunlight a bit. "I was wondering if you wanted to go to Lake Astute with me right now. I heard that the lake looks amazing glazed with ice."

    "I'd love to," Jake replied. He dashed to the coat rack and snatched his heavy jacket. He also threw on his mittens and hit boots. It took him less than twenty seconds to do the whole thing. Before anyone had the chance to say anything, they were already past the town sign on their way to Lake Astute.

    Once they got near, Khalil heard rustling in the grass, but he ignored it. He knew Jake had brought his new rifle along, because Jake always loved playing with his new toys.

    The moment that the twosome saw Lake Astute, they were awestruck by how beautiful the glazed lake was. They stood there gazing at its unique structure, being a perfect circle with two rocks complimentary shaped like hourglasses, and a smaller circle on top with water running down from the top. They were so deep in thought that they had hardly heard what was creeping up on them.

    They turned around at the sound of snarling to find an unexpected surprise. Two Houndour were standing directly behind them. The moment that Khalil and Jake turned around, the Houndour dove at them. Jake and Khalil were taken by surprise, and were not ready for the attack.

    Jake was bitten by the Houndour, and driven to the ground. DAMN!!! Awww damn that hurts! Jake howled in pain and was at a disadvantage as the Houndour was able to get on top of him. Jake put all his strength into reaching for his backpack. The Houndour was puzzled at this movement, and allowed Jake to reach into his pack. The second that Jake revealed the gun, the Houndour bit him again. Jake screamed in pain a second time, and he felt the warm assurance of blood rushing to the wound. He got a good sight on the Houndour as it drew back, and as soon as he got it in the crosshairs, he opened fire. The only problem was, he heard only a hollow click. As soon as he heard that, three things happened. One, Jake lost all his hope. Two, the Houndour lunged toward Jake. The final was that a Piplup was released directly in front of Jake. The Piplup used Bubble and the Houndour was able to ward it off, but it still suffered from the attack and fainted. Jake ran up and hugged the Piplup as hard as he could, and the Piplup gasped for breath. He looked around for Khalil, and Khalil was standing near a briefcase with a scratch on his face and a cut on his arm.

    Khalil had only been slightly hurt by the Houndour, so he was able to make it to the briefcase and throw out a Piplup, but not in front of himself, but in front of Jake. He was able to punch the Houndour out of consciousness, so he did not need the Piplup.

    Later that day...

    Professor Yew showed up around five. He conferred with Jake about his actions. Yew had heard about the encounter and had come over to investigate. The only problem Jake had heard about his actions was about pulling the gun out on the Houndour.

    "Why do you think the Houndour attacked us?" Jake inquired.

    "There could be many reasons for that, but since there are too many reasons for their to be an obvious reason, the is no reason," responded Yew.

    "Huh?" Jake was thouroughly confused. He wondered if this was some sort of "philosipher talk" that he had seen on many TV episodes or if it was evident and he was just stupid.

    "You remind me alot of myself when I was young. I wondered of the world, I lived life, and I was a daredevil. You seem to have a bond between pokemon because of the way that you saved your bacon out there against those wild Houndour. Stupid choice I must say, but you saved yourself. You should keep that Piplup."

    "Well, I shouldn't keep it, Khalil should. He threw out the pokeball, and he saved my life there. If you could, please deliver the Piplup to Khalil," Jake requested.

    "How very honorable of you Jake. Thank you. You are very kind," Yew had finished.

    Later, Jake wondered if he had made the right choice of giving Piplup away. He had always wanted a pokemon, and now he had one in his hands, but he gave it away.
