I am serious wondering about this.
You can find people who like or hate action-paced stuff like DBZ and such.
You can find people who like or hate symbolic, religious and/or social commentary stuff like Evangelion or so.
But can you really find anybody that hates Cowboy Bebop? I can't.

    Discuss.

I know people that don't like it, but even if I didn't, that doesn't mean there aren't any out there. And not having any haters wouldn't mean it's the most well-liked, it would mean it's the least disliked.

It's a good anime but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it is the most well-liked...

I don't like Cowboy Bepop and neither do most of my classmates.

Most people I know either like it or are indifferent to it, I've never met someone who actually HATED it, unlike some other animes like Naruto or Bleach, which is usually a I LOVE IT or I HATE it kind of thing.

    I personally liked Cowboy Bebop.

Personally, I don't care for it. I saw a couple of episodes, and they were decent, but not enough to get me hooked. But I don't really hate it, either.

I've noticed that younger anime fans (16 and under) are the crowd that tend to lean toward being indifferent or not really liking it whereas anyone older really likes it.

Myself? I've never even seen it, ahaha. :(

Cowboy Bebop is certainly a good anime series, at least in my opinion, and the movie was awesome too. However, I wouldn't call it the most well-liked anime ever, since there are a gooood amount of anime fans who really dislike Cowboy Bebop.

Sure, it's popularity is huge, and has lasted for a long time now, but so have multiple other series.

Look at DBZ, Detective Conan, Hellsing, and even Sailor Moon.. those said series have had spin-offs/videogames/live action versions, etc.. Cowboy Bebop hasn't really had anything but the original series. ><; So I wouldn't call it the most well-liked, no matter how much I like it myself, but it certaily is considered a 'legend' of sorts.

There probably are some Cowboy Bebop haters out there. I personally have never looked into the series, so...

On the other hand, my stepdad LIKES Cowboy Bebop (we also own a few DVDs of it), and he HATES all other anime (he grew up with three older daughters watching Sailor Moon, memorizing transformation choreography, etc.). That says something.

You can't really say that there is anything in this world that is 'most-liked'. I'm sure that there is probably a forum somewhere in the internet for hating Cowboy Bebop, if you look hard enough.

    I personally love the series.

The current popularity of Cowboy Beebop is more reliant on the nostalgia older fans place upon it and the appreciation newer ones derive from that fandom. I didn't grow up with the show so my opinion is that of the latter and even then, I didn't find it as engrossing as others have said it to be. That said, I didn't hate the show, I actually enjoyed it while I was watching it, but I'm sure most of the hate it does get stems from the hype.

I liked it enough to buy it, but it wouldn't say it's the best (at least not anymore). Cult shows tend to do that and I think Cowboy Bebop has passed into that category.

It kind of reminds me of how my parents sometimes talk about The Grateful Dead being the best band they ever saw and how I can understand that someone can like their music, but not how they can think it's the best thing ever. I wasn't there to get swept up in it and I don't have the nostalgia for it.

An anime like Cowboy Bebop is hard to get in for some people, and I can accept that. I think it has something to do with the fact, Bebop is a bit closer to real life in certain aspects of the show, and some people rather watch something with a bit more fantasy, like Naruto or Bleach. Bebop is short and sweet and Naruto and Bleach (I love these shows), but they have too much filler and comedy. I could be an age thing too, who knows?

I don't know. I'm in my mid twenties almost and I'm not that fond of it. Like I said in my previous post, I saw it and that was that. I didn't really feel the need to rewatch it. It's just not the type of show that I like and the ending was meh. That being said, I still think of it as a pretty good anime with nice art and awesome music.
