As stated below, Sprites are 2D pictures. 3D items are called "models" however. A model can be rotated/turned/flipped showing all sides in detail. R/S use sprites. These can be flipped so that they appear reversed, but no different angles can be obtained. There would need to be another pic.
If you notice in R/S, they have 2 pictures for each pokemon. One used in battle, the same pic flipped in the Pokedex and Summery, and one when the pokemon is on your team. Colosseum allows you to rotate all the pokemon you've encountered. Just make sure you stop by the teacher in the Trainer's Gym to get your P*DA updated each time you meet new pokemon.
As far as a 2D pic of the 3D model of Wes, you can go into the P*DA and see him in all his glory on the main screen. I think you can rotate the model to your liking and snap a pic when you get a good pose.
