Is this real?

Before I ask I'm pretty sure I know this is going to be fake but I bought a pack of HS Triumphant cards earlier and when I opened them inside were cards from the Black & White series, including card 115/114 the rare Pikachu. Were there any factory errors meaning the wrong cards went into the wrong packs?

There are 2 things that make me sure that I've bought a fake pack, the first being after looking on google all mentions of this card are that it is holo and this is non-holo. The second could just be me trying to find faults but the colour on the back looks slightly lighter than another card but as I said that could be my mind playing tricks looking for an answer.

So am I holding a fake card?

No. But another card in the pack is. Another thing I didn't notice until after posting when adding them to the pile of cards if you look side on the stack is much whiter where this pack is so pretty sure its fake.

    There are.

I asked in the shop where he got the cards from and he said they were from an import wholesaler. Do different countries get different variations apart from Japanese versions? Would all English Language releases be the same?

All English releases should be the same, iirc.

Something worth noting about legitimate versions of this Pikachu card is that the card stock used in the card is a little thicker and a little different card texture than standard cards.

    It does feel slightly thicker.

Something else that makes me think the pack could be fake though is the holo servine that was in there. The front of it feels pretty rough kind of like the coating on the moving pictures where you hold it at a different angle to make the image change.

I've been out of collecting since the original gold/silver days but bought a couple of packs the other week after playing the online version and didn't even know the full cards were holo now not just the picture behind the pokemon itself so I really don't know what I should be looking for anymore to tell if something is legitimate or not.

That's supposed to be how the Pikachu card feels like.

On mine, (and, since I pulled this from a legitimate pack bought at a Target store, I do believe that mine is legitimate) all the energy symbols on the card are holo, the set symbol is holo, the rarity symbol is holo (its the white/silver star next to the set symbol), Pikachu itself is holo, the word "Basic" in the top left corner of the card is holo, and the lightning bolt watermark behind the attack text is holo. Is yours holo in all of these places?

EDIT: Also, I'm fairly certain that the Pikachu is supposed to replace the reverse holo in a pack when it appears, so I'm fairly certain it's fake.

Not holo anywhere. As I said in the first post everywhere I looked on Google only mentioned a holo version. Nothing about a non holo which was my first clue it might be fake.

    Thats what I was expecting.

In fairness to the shop I don't think they actually know they're fakes as they are selling them for £1 each. They said they got a couple of boxes on the cheap which they believed they was because they were an older series so it's not like theyre making full price profit on them.

Well, Black & White is only a year old as a set, and it only just recently got rotated from the currently printing sets, so legitimate booster boxes are going to be the same price as the 4 sets that came after it.
