    Many people have speculated upon the parentage of Ash. The two most common beliefs are that he is Giovanni's or Professor Oak's son. The Japanese writers of the show have said that the identity of Ash's father will be revealed in the fifth season of the Anime.

    meh...I really wouldn' believe that site. It seems to me tha the quote you gave was just a wild guess on the webaster's part.

    I'm one of the few people that stll stand on the fact that Giovanni is Ash's dad, however.

    Maybe they already did reveal it in a japanese episode and the details of it were too much for 4kids to censor out.
     
    Heh? lol. As far as anyone's concerned these days, with the evidence we have, Ash either has no father or he's dead somewhere.

    As far as I know it was apparently said on a commentry on one of the dub Movie DVDs that more about Ash's father would be revealed during the "5th season" but this hasn't been the case, the 5th season was the last part of Johto (*Master Quest*) and nothing was revealed in it about his father.

    Personally I still think Ash is the unwanted son of Goku from DBZ...

    I dunno who Ash's father is....I dunno if I believe it's Giovanni....I think it might be some gym leader that Ash will eventually run into.
     
    Prof. Oak?? XD That'd be the funniest thing ever, that would mean that Ash is either Gary's father or uncle. XD
    There is no real evidence that either of them is his fajaa(father), but I do also think Giovanni can be his father.

    Oh, I know that website very well. That's my friend Karen's website! ^_^ I also heard about that the unveiling of Ash's Dad would be in the fifth season, too--but we all know it definitely didn't happen. I think the writers probably don't want to dwell on personal issues at the moment...and focus more on the new season and its new region. There is a good chance that Giovanni is Ash's Dad; because, when Ash got the chance to fight at the Viridian Gym, Giovanni had to suddenly leave...now could that just be a coincidence that they did not meet, or were they [the writers] trying to prove something, hmm?!

    Actually, I heard people argue that during the movie "Mewtwo Returns" (which I never saw), Ash and Giovanni see eachother face to face, but they seem to not know eachother. Like I said, I've never seen that movie, but I still stand strong that Giovanni is Ash's father.

    Hmm, I have "Mewtwo Returns" and I don't remember that scene...I'll have to go back and watch it then. Really, I don't even remember Giovanni being in that movie or that he and and Ash had any contact--maybe vaguely. There were additional bits and pieces about Team Rocket information with that girl Domino and stuff like that. But, I'll definitely be on the look-out for Giovanni and Ash when I watch it again. I'm partial to the idea of Giovanni being Ash's Dad, too...
