how many digits can a jap one have cause I got an offer but it has 7 to 8 digits.

The limit is 6 I believe. Are you sure it is 7 or 8 characters? It is Japanese after all.

No the person who is going to trade it to me said 7 or 8 or they are just making an mistake.

Well form what I remember here is the general rule. Some people tried to trick people in saying they got Japanese Darkrai;s with the English name. But on the Japanese game you can only fit Darkra. Therefore the max is 6 characters.

The maximum characters for a Pokémon's name in Japanese is 5. So, it's not Japanese for sure.
