I used to have Kazaa. I didnt wanna get sued... anyone get sued becuz of kazaa

I haven't and I don't think they've began sueing yet. Too much mess. There's like 70 million worldwide Kazaa users? Just a guess of course, probably way off. :P

    I don't use Kazaa currently.

People who use KaZaA are too stupid to at least use an alternative program that doesn?t let the RIAA see a list of their files. Plus they put cydoor on their system as well. =\

Anyways, P2P isn?t all bad, it has good uses, but of course anything that can be taken freely and made good in this world will be corrupted by stupid, greedy people. Always. Plus it's where most teenagers get their porn as well, KaZaA doesn't take your age. I think they should charge 1c for KaZaA, so an adult has to pay for it and they would know their kids have free access to all kinds of porn and dirt. =\
    No, I haven't been sued.

So, are you calling me stupid, Kairi??? ^_~ Just kidding. Yeah, I've been using KaZaA for probably three years now to download my music and video clips, etc. It gets on my nerves, though, because of the dumb pop-up ads that I constantly have to click out of since I have the "free" version. *sigh* Always a gimmick. Actually, I don't think they would sue the people using KaZaA, but the government and music artists would sue the founders of the company--much like they did with Napster.

if ur gonna be stupid(no offense) at least use kazaa lite K++. it doesnt have ads and blocks goverment and riaa ip's

Because the music I like costs $50 a CD to import unless I buy a stinky bootleg. =P

i dont support piracy anymore (except roms but i have the games i download). i used to. but then i heard of all the people losing work... then i thought about all their kids... livin on the streets... not fair... how would the REAL imakuni? think about me downloading his music(tho i never did) ...
    -Imakuni? ouut!

D'oh Orange beat me to it:P.
Especially for a person like me that enjoys vgm (videogame music) and anime soundtracks, those gems tend run upwards of 40 dollars or more (at least!) Ripoff, I know. But since I do enjoy it sooo much I do go out to the legit websites and actually buy their expensive cds, eventually. But I do it not out of fear of the RIAA (or whatever they call themselves now) but rather I do it out of respect. Its one of few ways I can try to support the artists without completely breaking my bank ; _ ;.

The other more sinister reason people pirate music is to make... $$$. But I think you all know that.

I don't use Kazzaa....too risky 4 me...and my dad would kill me if I got sued.
We was warned about kazza when we got the net installed...Kazzaa's evil...but I love downloading music, just not from there.

You can?t be sued by getting Video Game music, or Jpop for that matter. They only get people who upload files they are after, which are the ones like *insert whatever populated licensed by record singers thy have nowadays*

Why can't you save your own money to buy music? >_<

Downloading free mp3s illegally is a sin.

I completely forgot to answer the thread's original question.. No, I stopped using Kazza ages ago. The type of music I use to enjoy downloading became too scarce over time so I just dumped the program all together and moved on. Now I use ftp's and bittorrents to share what I have.

Yeah I know, but my friends still accuse me of pirating music (in a joking kind of sense.) Since stealing music is of course stealing music *sigh.* I can't really argue against that.

Of course, I?m just saying the RIAA only cares about their labels and their $, not their customers or people who like music besides theirs. I do use KaZaA Lite to get subtitled anim? however, about 12 GB worth.

I used to sell cds to friends when kazaa was legal. but they only had songs you cant get on cds (concert only songs and junk...) also kazaa is good for those who cant put songs on their comp cuz they dont have a cd drive... but then again its illegal

I'm not sure if you directed that question towards me but I'll answer ya anyway:P.

Why? I said it earlier and I'll say it again. Its not cheap! We wonder why this type of music isn't around in other countries as much as it should be, you might see it at some game stores here and there but that's it. The only real way to get it is to:
    A) Ask a friend in Japan to mail it to you or go there yourself (good luck) and look for it there.
    B) Look online. I can't really recommend ebay since most vgm/anime soundtracks are mostly bootleg copies. But GameMusic.com has a great selection at moderate prices, but hey at least they're legit and reliable.

I would just wait and save my money and get the actual cds everytime but why do that when I can "test" out the music first to see if I like it? It'd be an awful waste of money to buy a imported cd only to find out I just liked one or two tracks out of the entire cd. Plus, I'm not rich. Money is hard to come by these days:P.

Meh.. I hope I got my point across, lol.

I'm using a cheap celeron... and I can live without music.
