Well, I decided to try making a sprite from scratch and I think it came out pretty good ^^; If I make anymore I'll post them here. Lemme know what you guys think okies?

Never save your sprites in JPG. Always save your sprites in either PNG or GIF. It ruins the quality and makes the image fuzzy. JPEG is for the most part, only good for photos. From what I can tell though, this isn't bad. The outlining seems well done, the light source is consistent. One thing I can pick out is the top right corner of the eyes is a little box-like. I think by taking away that one black pixel it would help a lot.

Odd, its a bitmap on my computor. I can't always save it as GIF or PNG, as I use paint and saving it in those formats could mess it up (I tried GIF, and it made it look horrible) I'll try taking away the pixle. Thanks for your advice n_n


Ahh, I got it in PNG format.How's it look now? I took away the pixles on the eyes.

Photobucket seems to automatically change .bmps to .jpgs now, that's probably why it's a jpg...

Anyways, icky .jpg quality aside, it's a decent sprite. It might help a bit to make the shading a bit darker, though - I can easily pick out the highlights, but the shading blends in too much with the other colors on there.

As for the second sprite, taking away those pixels definitely helped.

You've got a lot of potential for scratch sprites. ^^

Yes, I definately agree with Cowrie, you've got potential. That's a rather simple scratch sprite to do, but everyone has to start somewhere! Taking away the pixel helped a lot. *pats self on back* Anywho, one thing I can pick out now that I can see it in PNG is the outline is choppy in places. An easy thing to fix, and would really get this sprite on its way to looking really good.
