Know something about new 3DS bundles?

Which exlusive color would you rather buy? Some of the colors were shown at E3.

Please note: I had a hard time deciding whether or not this belongs in the Japanese Entertainment forum, or the Video Gaming forum. As such, I apologize if I made a mistake posting this thread.

I was checking out fan-made colors for the 3DS on the net earlier, and found that Japan had released a Fire Emblem: Awakening bundle. It comes with the game and a cobalt 3DS (yet to be released here in North America). I found the article on Crunchy Roll. It appears that this bundle along with some other bundles (including Mario and Monster Hunter) come with exclusive handhelds as well. Now, of course the Mario bundles have arrived here, but one of them in Japan contained an "ice white" 3DS. It seems that Japan has a variety of colors, and none have been released here except for launch colors, red, pink, and Midnight Purple. So, my question to you, PC members, is if you think or know about these exclusive releases and whether or not they will be released here in North America. Opinions and thoughts on the matter are always welcome. As it would seem, as far as I can tell, most of these bundles have hit Japan's storefronts. Check eBay for imports. Although, if you're like me, I prefer my electronics in my primary language. Because, I don't know about you, but I want that Fire Emblem bundle!

    EDIT:
Thank you Lightning, I forgot that there was a Midnight Purple color.

There's also a purple 3DS here; I saw it in a store the other day and it's very pretty.

Japan always gets more bundles than the US does. I'm not entirely certain why but I think it probably has to do with the fact that they are okay with paying waaay more for a console than we are. :P The 3DS bundles there translate to like $300 USD when here, no one would pay much more than normal console price + bundled game price. I was pretty close to buying the Kingdom Hearts 3D bundle and I still wish I could have afforded it, but it would have come out to like $550 if I'd bought it and it's not worth it for most people since the 3DS is region-locked.

Japan gets tons of bundles for all consoles that never see the light of day here so... you can almost be guaranteed we won't see branded consoles. The different colours, though, we'll probably see soon enough.

Ah, man! I saw that the Midnight Purple 3DS came out awhile back for North America, but forgot to list it here in my thread! Thanks for reminding me about that one!

    Anyway,
Sometimes Nintendo of Japan irritates me. You are valid in your points about the average U.S. consumer not paying for an ungodly priced console. When the 3DS hit the shelves here, it's launch price astonished me, and deterred my interest in purchasing one. Another true factor that you have noted is region-locking. I thought about buying the JP Fire Emblem bundle off eBay, but with the price and annoying region-locks, it's as you said: It's not worth it. Completely understandable, and I wish Nintendo would sell more bundles here in the U.S., as it would strengthen the consumer market for Nintendo products here. Oh well. Guess I'll have wait and see.

I really like bundles, especially ones with unique DS designs. Too bad they aren't common. The China-exclusive Red Dragon design is something I really would like to have on my DS Lite.

As for 3DS bundles, I don't think I've seen one sold here yet besides the OoT 3DS. I'd love to see if they have replacement cases online though. Doubt it though.
That color for an NDS Lite is pretty cool! I have seen some neat ones before, but that design is awesome!

And you may be right. It would be neat to have replacement shells that people could install themselves, but I am highly doubtful, especially with designs/colors like those of special editions.

Nintendo lacks customization in their products (no, those cheap sticker decals don't count). For example, Microsoft's original Xbox 360s have interchangeable faceplates.

I would really like to see an American release for an Ice White 3ds. I highly doubt that this will happen, but it would be cool to see a gold colored 3ds bundled with New Super Mario Bros 2.
