Land Travel

Throughout the games, we have always had the opportunity to travel by bike. In Hoenn, we even had the opportunity to try out two different bikes. Bikes were pretty much the quickest alternative to walking in the games (besides Flying of course). However, X and Y added the Roller Skates feature, which could make you go pretty fast.

Which method of transportation do you prefer? Bike or Roller Skates? Do you hope to see the Roller Skates return? Or do you want to see a new method all together such as skateboarding? :3

Honestly? I'd love it if they made it so you could use certain Pokemon like we thought we'd get to in X/Y. Instead of just a controlled area where you can only ride one specific Pokemon, certain ones would allow you to ride them around everywhere. Aside from that...

I really liked the roller skate system, where you could use the stick to go fast and fluidly, and the D-Pad to walk around like normal. It was a good mix and felt like I had a lot of control, rather than having to activate a bike with a register button and then deactivating over and over.

Bikes is my favorite method to travel they are super fast and cheap.Yes, there is a need for a new transport method umm Skateboarding is the wonderful idea though.

If I'm just trying to get from point A to point B, I'll use the Bike; old habits die hard, I guess, since I've played so many games with the Bike, but I do use the Rollerskates for tricks sometimes. But honestly I would love to see a third method of faster transportation like riding your Pokemon everywhere, as Frozen Lotus said.

The roller skates were one of the best features in XY. It was great being able to move around faster than running. And it's easier to move around than on the bike. So I definitely prefer roller skates to biking.

Bike over skates for sure. It looks good, feels good and has the music! I love the light when it gets dark! The skates were ok but I didn't like that you couldn't deactivate them as my thumb felt more comfortable walking with the circle pad. I was always having to activate the Dowsing Machine so I could walk or run with the circle pad. In the future I definitely want the option of riding my Pokemon though! Too cool!

While the skates in XY were fun at times, nothing beats the good old bicycle for me. It's fast and helps a lot when it comes to hatching Pokemon eggs.

I prefer control over style, which is why I like the bike more than the skates. I guess, they wouldn't be so bad, if they wouldn't control so awkwardly and if they wouldn't have this weird ending delay, but sadly, that's not the case. It also doesn't help, that you can't turn them off permanently.

I never had any issues with the skates feeling awkward, and the delay never really bugged me. What drives me crazy is having to actually activate the bike -every- time I want to use it, then deactivate it every time I want to go through certain types of grass and areas. I also hate that it REQUIRES the music to change.

I didn't actually know you couldn't turn off the skates... I could see why that would bother people, but it never really bugged me simply because I liked them so much. Though considering they were a brand new concept, I feel like it'd be better to just improve on them rather than axe them all together. Sadly, with sneaking, that seems to be the case.

Skates for me! It is so much better than having to activate the bike and I also feel it is easier to maneuver as well. So having both options in XY was awesome, and I hope they bring the skates back in the next game. :D

I would like to see the roller skates to return in future generations. I'm okay with Bikes, I like the Bikes from Gen IV and RSE -- fast yet easy to handle.

Skateboard on the other hand were the ideas for GS. :) I don't mind seeing them either.

I really like those methods of travelling, it's a lot faster than walking. While the bicycle music is lovely, it's annoying you can't choose to hear the regular overworld music. Using the bike pretty much everywhere where it's allowed, made me never hear that music any more as soon as I got it.
