Where is the best place to level up your pokemon? The best (non-cheat device) way to level up your pokemon?

My main pokemon all have level 50 something and my Rayquaza is 70 something. When I try to fight wild Pokemon the experience I get gets less and less as I level up.

What is the best way to earn money? Using Trainers Eyes, trainers seem to want a re-battle less and less.

When you Battle in Battle Tower, does the Pokemon you use gain experience? Is there a reason/incentive to Battle in Battle Tower besides the prizes?

    • Sky Pillar has the highest-level wild Pokemon in the game. Also useful to train on the end of Victory Road where Wally is, highest level trainer in the game.
To re-fight trainers you have to pass over the edges of their routes, and through their routes, multiple times [seems to vary by trainer]. You could ride your bike back and forth over a few routes [use the time for something like hatching eggs!]
    • Those TV people always want to battle and pay high, they move between 3 locations, just follow them around and use the amulet coin. Hopefully your travel will activate the other trainers on the routes too. You'll need Surf and Rock Smash. If you have a Pokemon with Pickup ability, incidental wild battles can be put to good use, also they pick up saleable items like Nuggets.
    • No EXP in battle tower, but all the good hold items- leftovers, brightpowder, white herb, king's rock, focus band, choice band etc. also another trainer star for beating 50.

You could just have 6 zigzagoons (or phanpys, but they are rarer) and try to get lots of rare candies. It's faster for high level pokemon and is good for EV training, or even if you aren't really EV training.

Thanks Icer for all of your help.

Pokedragonfire what do you mean about the Phanpy's? I think I have 2 of them, but haven't used them.

^ think that he means the have the pick up ability like zigzagoon

Is that a move they learn when they level up?
^ No, its their special ability, they pick up items, I have never had a zigzagoon or phanpy so I don't know exactly how they pick up the items though

No it's an ability that allows the pokemon to pick up items. You have to enter a pokemon battle, and fight to receive an item, but no guarantee you will get one with each battle.. even with 5-6 pokemon that have pick-up. Note: You do not need to to use the pokemon in battle that knows the ability to receive an item.

If you have Colosseum, Aipom also has the same ability, Pick Up.

Yeah, I find trading my Pokemon to Colosseum a better idea for levelling up. Mount Battle has up to L65 Pokemon, which can net you some serious Exp. Even good for low level Pokemon, cos they start at L16. Plus, cos you've traded the Pokemon to Colosseum, you'll be getting 1.5 times the normal amount of Exp.

Plus, with the amount of Poke Coupons you'll be getting, you can stock up on good items like Leftovers (you can get multiples of items with enough Coupons), and get some pretty useful TMs, like Flamethrower and Ice Beam. Having more TMs to play with is always a good thing.

    So, that's what I do :-)

Thanks Toothache. I have (a used) Colosseum but have not purified ALL of the Shadow Pokemon. Which I understand you have to do before you can trade to R/S.

Not true, actually. You only have to have beaten the major part of the game, all the way to after Realgam Tower. Then you can trade with ruby/sapphire. I myself have about another tweny pokemon to purify, but I still have some of my ruby pokemon in there for training.

Thanks Pogiforce-14. Where do I go in Colosseum to trade with my R/S game?

Phanpy can Pickup, but Donphan can't. However, Linoone can, and since it also can learn Covet, Surf, Strength, Cut and Rock Smash, it's a good Pokemon to walk round with.
Every battle if the Pokemon with the Pickup ability is not holding anything, it has a 1 in 5 chance of picking something up as a hold item. This is usually a Super Potion but can be a Nugget, vitamins, Rare Candy, King's Rock, Revive, Full Restore, PP up etc. You have to take away the item it's picked up before it can pick up another.

You go downstairs in the Pokemon centre in Phenac City to trade.

    a) rare candy... doesn't scar your EV as well and is by far the best (and pretty much only way) of training (for competitive battling). 5 Linoones will help a lot.

    b) 5 linoones = nugget farming... it is faster than amulet coin.

    c) you answered your own question...
