Liberland is possibly a newly created nation thanks to a Czech man taking advantage of some interesting border discrepancies. Really interesting if it works, but I think we know better.

The real question here is what kind of country you would establish and what sorts of laws, rules, and government you would establish to rule your new land. Feel free to give your country its own name as well.

And this is a serious thread, so try not to be too much of a clown. ;)

My nation would be a totalitarian autocracy. I can trust in the people to make wrong decisions, democracy's out. My government would also not be bothered with the disputes that come with a two-party system. Besides...who wouldn't like to experience absolute power?

I wouldn't be that harsh, though. My people would retain many civil liberties - equality, suffrage, legal gay marriage, allowed abortions, that sort of thing. I would have to enact some measure of gun control, can't have the citizens running around with assault rifles. People also wouldn't have much political freedom, but do they really need it? After all, I'm in charge!

My government would be involved economically, probably adopting protectionist policies. We all know what happened when someone tried to have a laissez-faire economic system :p. Despite intervention, my country would be quite capitalist. Communists suck.

Hmmm...what else...I guess I'd go for the separation of church and state, and the overall secularization of the country. I'd also emphasize a forceful military - a comprehensive army and air force, and a navy if I wasn't landlocked (and had a decent amount of sea access). I'd at the very least attempt to be a regional power and mediator. Nationalism would also be indoctrinated into the people - my country is better than most, after all.
