Man, That Pokémon Walkthrough Person is Just Rude!

    Well as you have read the title I bet you have a pretty good idea of what this thread is about. *cough*Rant*cough* So please read this and tell me respectivly what you think about this rant. Also I will not name any names, so if you do deside to reply to this please don't use any names as well.

    I guess I will call him "Jerky"! Very clever isn't? Anyway let me start with why I am mad at Jerky.

    For one, he is very rude. In one of his videos he said that he was going to trade a pokémon that wasn't in the game to the game he was playing now. I either made a comment or a letter saying something like "Oh are you sure you can do that? I mean I haven't seen anyone that has done that before." and Jerky replies back with "Yes I can do that, I have played the game before, so I know what I am doing.". Sure enough he was able to.

    Now I know that it is stupid for me to get offended by that, because really I don't know if he was intentionaly trying to be rude or anything, but to me it sure did came out that way. Also it made me feel like he was calling me stupid. Maybe it is just my insecurities comeing out or something.

    The second and last time I have messaged Jerky was about him doing a HeartGold and/or SoulSilver Walkthrough. I asked him if he was going to do one or two, and if he can choose to be the girl character. He answered back with "One, because both of them would be pointless, and I would never choose to be the girl because even though there is people who wouldn't care, I don't want to get the flood of hate.". To tell you the truth that did ticked me off, but as I think about it, he is just an insecured little boy who doesn't want to be called a loser for choseing to be a girl.

    Hell man, it is just a game! It isn't like that is what you want to be a girl! *Sigh* I would find it very noble if a guy who is doing a pokémon playthrough with commentary who would choose to be the girl. I have seen a lot of walkthroughs/playthroughs and since they are guys, they choose to be guys!

    To tell you the truth I find it rather sexist. I bet you if there was some sort of gain for being the female character that most of the guys that do do the walkthroughs would still be a guy because they are too scared of what people will think of them.

    I really do wish that I had the right equiptment to do my own thing, because it seems like that there will never be a walkthrough or a playthrough with the girl character.

    Anyway, another thing why I don't like Jerky is because in his videos he gets real mad at some of the people that ask him "this" or "that". I.e.: "THE POKéBALL IS TO THE LEFT!!!!!!!". Now I know that it would be annoying if I got the same question more than once, but you don't have to be a jerk about it.

    One last thing why I don't like Jerky and his walkthroughs is that they are boreing! Sure he does have commentary with his videos, but it is more like he is reading a script-badly.

    The two only good things I got to say about his videos is:
    1) In his latest videos he has some nice graphics, like the pics of his pokémon in his intro and
    2) He does give you good information on where to find stuff.

    So all in all, I will give his walkthrough a 7 out of 10 for the imformation and the pictures, but his peoples skills a -5 out of 10.

    Umm..I hope *I* dont come off as rude, but they're perfectly legit answers. I mean, he's hardly going to sugar coat everything. If hes been as rude as you say about the pokeball thing, you're probably lucky he didnt snap at you.

    And really, theres no use whining over his gender. It's his choice; if you want the girl..make your own walkthrough. I mean really, it makes no difference, and if he's a male, it's only natural he'd like to play as a male.
     
    Where's the tl;dr version? I couldn't be bothered to go through that whole wall of text, especially when you called him "jerky."
     
    Eh, he doesn't seem so bad. I mean, I do IT work. I work with REAL jerks all the time. Personally, I'd probably just disable comments. Nothing anyone ever says in YouTube comments are ever useful.
     
    All this for a walkthrough that's been made loads of time?

    Okay. I hope you realize that this person can say whatever they want. If they choose to be rude, then that's their problem. They'll probably lose their friends, so just chill.

    Secondly: "Hello man, it's just a game!" Exactly. If you want a walkthrough to star a girl so bad, then make one yourself. Don't complain about sexism because this isn't sexism. Sexism is to say that girls can't write walkthroughs. Just because the author of the walkthrough chooses to play as a guy doesn't mean that it's mandatory. I'm all about the empowering of women, but seriously don't go over the top. :|

    Lastly, if you hate the guy so much, don't use his walkthroughs. Plain and friggin simple. Make one yourself and make it one billion times better. If you're so pissed, do something else than complain. Cause if you're trying to get people to stop using his walkthroughs, news flash: using the name Jerky isn't going to help.
     
    Wait, wait, wait. They are sexist because they choose to be a male? Uhm, no. Are you playing a male? No? Then you must be sexist. Or, are you playing a female because you are female and that is what you'd prefer? Or maybe it is that you are insecure about playing a male. Hm?

    Everything you said could be used right back against you. And it is a walk through, the gender doesn't matter, it doesn't make the game any different. All it is a little sprite change.

    "Jerky" wasn't being rude. Maybe he felt that you were calling him stupid by the comment?

    The thing that got you angry is just really trivial, you basically got mad at him because he said he wouldn't be female. There could be many reasons, other than him being insecure. Maybe he is insecure, but should he really get shunned for that? Maybe people have made fun of him for stuff like that? I don't think anyone would want to live through being made fun of again.

    I think I did put in about how I don't have the equiptment, but if I did I would defently do my own walkthrough.

    Also I did say that this was a "rant" and I just needed to get it off my chest. I mean, yes I could have told him off, but really that wouldn't do anything good.

    Patchy, also I do agree with you about the rude thing and I don't think that you are being rude at all.

    I was only "whining" about the gender because it seemed like being a girl would be a bad thing and that is why I find it sexist.

    I know that I was reading into that, and that it was stupid of me to do that (which I did say that in the thread), but still in a way it does effect me.


    Eon, I wasn't really wanting you guys to rally up. I just wanted to say how I feel. Like I would get why you would think that if I used his real Walkthrough Identiy. Again what I wanted was just to left off some steam. I could have done a lot of worst things, instead of just doing this.

    Narutoactor, I know that it is quite silly and I should just brush it off, but to me I also feel like I have been "betrayed" in a way. I mean if I was in his shoes I wouldn't want to be mean to my fans, to tell you the truth I would be happy if I got loads of questions from people wanting my help.

    Sounds, it really isn't about that.

    Syn, I have stopped using his walkthroughs, I can't do my own, I know about the being rude and how he is going to lose people, and I used "Jerky" because the reason was just to express myself, not to stop people from going to his walkthroughs. To tell you the truth, I don't care if he is honored for what he does and that he has millions of fans. If I wanted people to stop, again I would have used his real Youtube username.

    Menuer, whenever I get bored with being a certain gender I just switch the character gender in a new game. Really I just toss a coin, my bother calls, if it lands on his call then I'm a boy, if it doesn't land on his call I'm a girl. Also I when I was asking him I did try to write to where he wouldn't get offended and then I did apoligized after that episode. I do agree with I did get mad about him not choosing to be a girl, but there is more to that again.

    Like I did say, his walkthrough (not based on him) is good, but if it is just based on himself, not so good. To tell you the truth, if all you wanted was the information I would recomend him for a walkthrough host, but if you want some nice, funny commentary and does have a lot of information, I would defently suggest someone else.

    I think you read into this just a tad too much, Loli dear. Since this is the Internet, you don't know if he was actually trying to be rude or not. He might've just been answering your questions without realizing he was being a bit edgy.

    I do agree that it was slightly sexist to think that picking the girl character would unleash a "flood of hate". He should have worded that differently.
