So the trailer for the second Maze Runner movie, Scorch Trials, was released a couple weeks ago! I forgot to post a thread then but I've got heaps of things to discuss so better late than never I guess.

What do you think of the trailer? Am I the only one who feels 1) that it's completely different to the books (again), but 2) super super super excited to see what they do? How do you think it will compare to the books?

Please keep any spoilers from this and the next book in spoiler tags!

Well, I still havent seen the first movie, but I've read the books. From what I can tell its reasonably far from what I imagined

This looks like a really good movie! I saw the first movie and read the books, but I liked the book better. I am hoping they do a good job with this.

I actually never finished reading the Scorch Trials. I bought the series after watching the Maze Runner and read the first book, but I gotta say - imo it seems to be one of the rare cases where the film was actually better than the book, which I felt was kind of poorly written. It's been a while since I read it (which was right after the movie came out) so I don't quite remember exactly why I felt that way, but yeah, wasn't a fan of the book and only read about half of Scorch Trials because I couldn't really get into it.

I am excited for this movie though, since I like the film version of Maze Runner. :P

Hmmm that's really interesting. I adored the books, mostly for their plot and the characters (can't really remember much about the writing style). I think the first movie was great, although quite different (in both a good and a bad way) from the books - the changes that they made when translating it from the page to the screen were great in bringing things to life and because some things in the book

    Spoiler:

might not be able to be translated that smoothly into a film. Though at the same time, I feel a lot of the complexity of the first book wasn't carried over to the film. Still a great film though. I definitely think you should give Scorch Trials another chance ;)
