I know at least some of you here have heard of Metallica, one of my all-time favorite bands. So..what do you think about them?

I think up until Black they were one of Metal's defining bands.
Ever since then..they make me gag with each new release.

It's more dishearening, actually. When you listen to classic tracks like Fade to Black, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, Orion and One, it makes you so sad to realize that now they're just another band who've abandoned their musical identity in search for more money.

Man i like em but i only listen to there good i mean old song

I'm not that sure what to make of them. I'm sure when they first came out, they were the defining element of heavy metal, but as the times have worn on... it just seems like you want to turn down each of their songs or something. Well, that's what I want to do when I hear them. :/

Metallica pwn, they slowly started like fricking eroding now... St. Anger is horrible... But the old stuff like Enter the Sandman and stuff are awsome :D "Hush little baby don't say a word and nevermind that noise you heard it's just the beasts under you bed... in your closet in your head. Exit light enter night take my hand off to never never land" :P

I don't really like it anymore.. There was a time I really liked them, but that time is over :P ^^

Same here. I loved them when I was in 8th grade, or so...But, now, I get annoyed by any song of theirs, pretty much. There are a few I can stand to listen to, but, when I realised how concieted they were, I stopped listening to them...I don`t think I can have respect for a band (despite at one point being the definition of Metal) that thinks they are the greatest band in the world.

Metallica used to be good before they disappeared up their own backside.

Metalica is a pretty good band, I haven't listened to them for awhile...

Metallica held a concert in Pensacola, Florida last month. I went just for the hell of it (floor tickets w00t), and while I can't say I was too terribly impressed (the twin drummer act that Godsmack pulled was amusing though), at least I got some enjoyment out of hearing (Welcome Home) Sanitarium, Master of Puppets and Fight Fire With Fire live. They even did an encore, but it was something off Kill 'Em All (which I STILL haven't listened to all the way yet), so, eh.

Trujillo was a badass on bass though. He had a solo during the show, which was awesome. I swear, bassists don't get enough love...

Metallica rawks. I don't really like their new songs, though. They were way cooler back in the day.
