Actually... no

There are several mews around the world, though not too much. One of these mews left its DNA in some amber when it died ages ago when there were still alot of mews in a region resembling South America. Some Pok? Researchers under Giovanni funds found that amber and brought the creature back to life. However to please Giovanni they manipulated it to be the strongest pok?mon ever. So Mewtwo is a clone of an ancient mew with some enhancements...
