Microsoft AntiSpyware

Since neither of the aforementioned replace the other, I could only see it as an addition, rather than a replacement. I know nothing about it though, except it's proven to be kinda a difficult "market" to break into.

That's true. I'm not so sure about Microsoft's claims, but joining their AntiSpyware network will supposedly send any new Spy/Adware threats to Microsoft, to get a solution from the pros, and update everyone elses too. I like the feature to scan once a day at your desired time, I can have it scan while I sleep, so I don't have to remember or waste my time scanning.

Of course, even if the AntiSpyware network is as good as Microsoft makes it sound, it won't do any good until enough people join it. It's a nice concept though.

Another feature I like is how it gives you the background on the spyware it deletes. I haven't seen any of the other programs give a wittle story on what it deletes. :P

If it's as good as MS says it is, it will probably by my replacement in the near future, but for now, I agree with you, it's just an addition.

From another forum I go to that had people tested it out, they said it's (sadly) MUCH better than any other spy/adware removal program. If MS keeps it free for people after the beta testing then this would be the number one program recommend for removing those bugger... No pun intended...

<_<
>_>

I agree with Kairi, I can only see it as an addition. Remember, you can never have too many spyware removers. :D It's like candy and Linux.

I think that Microsoft does have the better anti-spyware remover. Microsoft is known to have good products and I hope this software does good.

Yea, I saw the notice about the Antispyware on microsoft's site. I still like Ad-Aware and Spybot, so, it has to be a major improvement before I think about changing. Plus, I hate windows anyways, ewww. Im trying to port over to Mac OS, lol.

yep windows is so....1995. Time to move on with it....I remember an old Computer Chronicles epp in 1996 that had a pin that said Windows 95 = Macintosh 89....now that I see it,thats absolutley true. Linux or Mac would be a better choice.

When that Mac Mini comes out, I'm buying. Or I'll try to get my parents to.
Anyway, I tried Microsoft's Antispyware thing and I must say it's the most ugliest thing I have ever seen in my life. Microsoft needs new graphic designers. I personally don't like it, I like the feel of Adware and Spybot more than Microsoft's thing. I really don't think that there is much of a difference in Microsoft's product than what's already out there.

I disagree. I think the design is pretty appealing, and the fact that it's faster and automatic has won me over.

Why worry about it's interface, when you don't even have to see it run? :P

The guy on the ad looks like he's from The Matrix. XD

My friends have all said good things about it so far. I don't really care about the design too much.

I don't think it's fast than Adware, but it is faster than Spybot. I never noticed the automatic until this weekend and I must say that was nice. But it has to detect spyware before it gets on your computer to be the best antispyware software. So far, McAsfee has the best one with their non-free antispyware killer. I wish it was free through, so I could get it.

I'm going to steer clear of Microsoft AntiSpyware - not just because it's Microsoft (although there's a lot I don't like about Microsoft) but because Microsoft can be... unscrupulous. They might spy on it too... I like AdAware and Spybot just fine, they've always found everything for me.
