    What are some common misconceptions that people make about you?
     
    I've been told a couple of times that people think I look like a bully/unfriendly person because I have a bit of an angry complexion, but it's quite the opposite. :P

    My eyebrows just slack a little when i'm expressionless. That and i'm always squinting.

    I've been asked countless times if I play basketball because of my height, but I don't.
     
    They always think I'm depressive, since I have a very melancholic look, and my everyday expression looks so sad to them....despite it being normal in my terms. They also think I'm the worst student, since I dress with boyish clothes and all, when in reality, I'm a top nerd at my grade.
     
    People tend to think I'm sad because of my default facial expression, and really serious because I'm so quiet irl. But if they talk to me more they'd see that even in normal conversation I'm the opposite of that, haha.
     
    Same as Toujours, I get people asking me if I'm upset or if everything is alright when I'm just my normal self. It can be quite annoying at times actually. And online I get people thinking I'm an idiot or uguu kawaii while I'm not lol.
     
    Pretty much all assumptions about me are correct/accurate. What you see is what you get yeeeppp.

    This is a really tough thread for me but I'll try. Sometimes people think I'm a bit angry because of my usual facial expression which is quite solemn. A lot of people usually don't take me seriously since I play the fool often and they think that's my actual nature when it's more of a persona. Feel free to call BS on that last part, I can certainly understand why you would. Oh yeah, some people think I'm a nice person as well LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!! It's partially true but I think some people over exaggerate it for me. Oh but the biggest misconception about me is that people seem to think I am a badass when I don't really believe I am.
     
    People have told me that, "You must be rich! You always have a nice outfit on!"

    lol, no, not at ALL. I just know how to dress myself. That, and when I'm walking I apparently seem angry. I'm just determined to get to where I need to be, so I always have this focused look. Not because I'm angry, just because I need to get there!
     
    The absolute most common misconception about me is that I'm a stoner. I've never touched any drugs past Ibuprofen and prescription drugs, and I've certainly never been high from them. Apparently I just look that tired most of the time, while the ACTUAL stoners are the ones no one thinks is a stoner, like a good third of the ROTC kids at school.
     
    That I am a devil worshiper, which I get this one a lot because of my Blue, Purple and Black hair and four piercings...oh yeah and my "punk rocker" dressing. I also have a mean appearance and people think that I am mean; this is however true lol.

    I know your pain... I am very tall, but I suck horribly at basketball. Every single person over the age of 25 has asked me that question when I talk to them for the first time...

    Also, due to my height, some people find me intimidating... Seriously, I am a very timid person, yet people fear me.
     
    That I'm a genuinely nice person. I'm not sure if I'm actually nice, or if I'm just manipulative. If I had to say, it'd be a bit of both, I guess.
     
    Apparently ppl think that I'm not asian because I'm tall and I don't have black hair. owo;;
    Oh and loads of ppl thought that I look 15 haha :'D
     
    People think I STILL resemble my driver's license photo which was taken when I was 16, so I guess people think I still look 16 lol But then on the other hand, someone saw a photo of me and said I looked like I was in my 50's o_0

    People get confused about my gender if I'm not dealing with them in person and they've never seen my picture. On PC, the reason is obvious because, well, look at my sig xD But even over the phone, I've been told, "Yes, Ma'am" before. Must be my voice xD

    And apparently when I'm sleepy and nodding off I look angry.

    That actually reminds me of another misconception several people had about me back in high school, only in somewhat of a different fashion.
    I have a bit of a muscular upper-body build (Yet I don't know how, since all I ever lift are grocery bags) and people back in high school would ask if I was on the Football team. Once I told them no they would always tell me to try out.

    I know nothing of Football. o__o

    that i'm a boy. well, that occurs for the most part online, but a lot of salesmen and salesladies often refer to me as, "sir," only to quickly correct that mistake later.
    another misconception made about me would probably be me loving anime, k-pop, or asian dramas. don't get me wrong; i do love some anime series, some dramas, and some k-pop songs, but i'm definitely not a die-hard member of those fandoms.
     
    • That my naturally curly hair is a weave. I will tell y'all right now that is fake, weaves are expensive and take way too damn long to put in and my hair fabulous enough naturally. I thank my good genes.
    • That I'm this aloof, super-serious lady. Once you get to know me, you'll wonder how you ever thought that in the first place. I blame my serious-looking neutral face. I can't help the way that I look. :( I also have a deep voice so it tends to catch people off-guard the first time they hear me talk. Luckily it's gotten higher as I've grown up, but it can still be a bit surprising to some.
    • That I like hip-hop/rap music because I'm half-black. And yes, I have actually gotten this before. I laugh at this assumption because I don't think I perpetuate any sort of stereotypes so I wonder how else they would think something like that about me. And for the record, I don't hate hip-hop or rap music, but it isn't my favourite genre of music.
