I'm looking for some beautiful/dramatic pokémon related music. It can be from games or anime, remix or original, lyrics or instrumental, 8-bit or rock band, it doesn't matter. I often use it as the soundtrack for new chapters in my roleplays, and it would be nice to get some new tunes that I might not have found before.

So do you know of some really cool pokémon music that would be good for some kind of dramatic or emotional soundtrack? Like I said, it doesn't matter from where it is as long as it's pokémon related. It's not as fun to use some random track from a band or a movie or something that has no connection to pokémon.

One of my favorite pieces of music from the games is KISEKI, which is played during the credits of X and Y. As far as the main series games go, I don't think there are many songs (if any) that have more emotion in it than that. I also love than even though it's an instrumental piece, it still has lyrics- in 7 different languages.

B&W's "Emotion is a classic for me. Lovely wistful piano.
    Spoiler:

I really adore the Ecruteak City theme from the anime. The sweeping orchestra really touches my heart, especially on the crescendo at 1:25. Such a romantic city theme. ♥
    Spoiler:

For an especially powerful scene, there is of course "Tears of Life" from the first Pokemon movie. You know the one... It starts off sad and then revives with joy.
    Spoiler:

Another good song from the anime is "Tears After the Cloudy Weather." It played on several occasions and can be used when you need to say gooodbye...
    Spoiler:

Last but not least, there is the fan favorite "Lugia's Song" from the second Pokemon movie. Powerful and majestic, it perfectly captures the mystical beauty of legendary Pokemon. (Specifically Lugia, but ya can use it for whatever.)
    Spoiler:

I recommend looking through the soundtracks for the Pokemon anime series/movies, especially earlier seasons and films. Really great orchestral scores of songs both familiar and new can be found within. Sorry if the songs I suggested are nothing new for ya, since those songs from the movies are popular... I think. ~_~

I think the single most tearjerking theme I've ever heard in Pokémon is "Through the Sea of Time" from Mystery Dungeon:

Spoiler: Through the Sea of TIme

After that, there's "Don't Ever Forget" from the same games:

    Spoiler: Don't Ever Forget

Another one that made me cry is "In the Hands of Fate," which is also from Mystery Dungeon:

Spoiler: In the Hands of Fate

Last, but not least, I think PokeRemixStudio's "Primal Dialga Remix" is an incredibly powerful, yet emotional track, and it really deserves a mention here:

    Spoiler: Primal Dialga Remix

And for the heck of it, here's a few more emotional tracks from Mystery Dungeon that I'm in love with:

    Spoiler:

I know this is a lot of stuff, but I absolutely promise that all of these tracks are worth looking into. =D

I intentionally left this one out hoping that someone else would bring it up. Probably my favorite piece of music from the anime, and one of the big reasons why Pokemon 2000 is my favorite of the movies.

Here's some dramatic music from the main Pokemon games:

    Dark Cave
    Spoiler:

    Rock Tunnel (GSC version)
    Spoiler:

Meteor Falls (I included both versions because I find them both depressing)
    Spoiler:

    Mt. Coronet
    Spoiler:

    Celestial Tower
    Spoiler:

    N's Farewell
    Spoiler:

Here are the (in my opinion) most depressing soundtracks in the first PMD:

    Fugitives:
    Spoiler:

    Mt. Blaze
    Spoiler:

Here are a few soundtracks that are more emotional:

    Vermilion City (GSC version)
    Spoiler:

    Emotion
    Spoiler:

Now this is the one that got me, especially if you've actually played through and understand the story behind it. Mystery Dungeon sure did produce some beautiful tracks.

I'm positive many people feel that champion battle theme from Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, alongside its remix in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, are a lot intense, and so do I; to me, it sounds to be very hyping and energetic, which are some feeling that I believe we should be having while battling against a champion, who is said to be one of the toughest Pokémon trainers in their respective region.

As for anime, I've enjoyed Advanced Battle opening theme a ton. In fact, its opening song was one, major reason as to why I used to tune into the show each and every week back when it was still airing, haha.

Did someone mention Gym Leader's Last Pokemon's theme?

Remembering some of the tougher gym leaders in the game, ehem Elesa, ehem Clay, whenever they had their last pokemon out while the rest of your party was already wounded from the previous opponents, their signature comes out and is ready to mop the floor with whoever was left standing. Still, the funny thing is that when you've already downed the gym leader's signature mon, he/she sends out whoever was the last and the awesome theme still plays.

The theme really hits the spot. The theme is one of those pieces of music that make me want to feel pumped up and be ready to do whatever it takes to overcome the overwhelming odds. We are on our last stand boys (and girls). We're down 2 games in our Bo5 match. Oh so I'm down to my last few pokemon? Or my teammates are all thinking of hitting "Yes" at the Surrender option when we have lost our turrets, inhibitors, and barracks? Screw that! Winning is the only option and this theme plays in my head whenever me and my team are on our own last stand.

Two pieces from movie 06 soundtrack are really incredible. This one for epicness.

    And this one for flashbacks/sadness:

Hmm; practically all of the Pokemon battle themes could qualify as "dramatic", in my opinion.. XD Well, the notable ones that come to mind (I'm pressed for time, so I linked the ones that aren't readily known, as far as I know) are:

(for the most part - section titles are underlined; song names are in quotation marks; song sources are italicized)

Dramatic official Pokemon battle themes (asterisks indicate my top-tier songs here):
"Battle! VS Wild Pokemon (Kanto)" (Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen)
--practically the "pioneer of drama" for Pokemon battle themes...it has a sense that you need to conclude the battle in some form quickly, be it fleeing, capturing the foe Pokemon, or outright defeating the foe Pokemon!
*"Battle! VS Gym Leader (Kanto)" (Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen)
--a sense of tension permeates the song. Also, the Elite 4 "encounter" theme in the game provides great tension as well.
"Final Battle! VS Champion (Kanto)" (Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen)
--exudes a sense of regret for the player character pressing the A button to face his rival in one final match XD
--the HarmoKnight remix works well, too!
"Battle! VS Gym Leader (Johto)" (Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal)
    --the "low-sounding middle section" especially
*"Decisive Battle! VS Champion (Johto)" (Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver)
--seems to display a sense of solemnity as you conclude your Johto journeys of battling
"Battle! VS Pokemon Trainer (Hoenn)" (Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)
    --the "low-sounding middle section" especially
"Battle! VS Gym Leader (Hoenn)" (Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)
    --the "low-sounding middle section" especially
*"Battle! VS Elite 4 (Hoenn)" (Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)
    --especially the introduction!
*"Decisive Battle! VS Champion (Hoenn)" (Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)
--the whole song just screams "INTENSITY"
"Battle! VS Frontier Brain (Hoenn)" (Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)
    *"Battle! VS Super-ancient Pokemon (Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza)" (Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)
"Battle! VS Legendary Golems (Regirock/Registeel/Regice)" (Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)
*"Battle! VS Team Magma Grunt/Team Aqua Grunt" (Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)
*"Battle! VS Team Magma Boss/Team Aqua Boss" (Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)

--of all battle songs, I feel that this probably ties with the Johto Champion battle theme and the Hoenn Champion battle theme for providing the most drama and tension..
"Battle! VS Mewtwo" from Pokemon Stadium 1

Dramatic official remixes of Pokemon songs:
"Pokemon Red/Blue/Green/Yellow Battle Theme Medley/Poke Floats" (Super Smash Bros. Melee)
*"Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal Battle Theme Medley/Pokemon Stadium '2'" (Super Smash Bros. Melee)

"Battle! VS Wild Pokemon (Sinnoh)" (Super Smash Bros. Brawl)
*"Dialga/Palkia Battle at Spear Pillar!" (Super Smash Bros. Brawl)

--I love how the song sounds "off-tune-ish" at times to add to the specialized tension of facing Dialga and Palkia
"Battle! VS Team Galactic Grunt (Sinnoh)/Team Galactic" (Super Smash Bros. Brawl)
"OK! (Instrumental)"/Johto Victory Battle theme from Pokemon anime -
--this derives from the Pokemon anime, and was quite fitting for the "Ash's Charizard vs Gary's Blastoise" battle, becoming quite the memorable masterpiece
"Team Rocket theme, Pokemon Hikerukana remix" -
--that harmonica really goes to work on the song, as if Team Rocket's base wasn't creepy enough already XD

Dramatic fanmade remixes of Pokemon songs
    :

Remix by Warinside of "Decisive Battle! VS Champion (Johto)" -
    --it's just so epic!
Remix by TheGimpsta of "Decisive Battle! VS Champion (Hoenn)" - https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/74838
Remix possibly by arghivebeenspot of "Decisive Battle! VS Champion (Johto)" -
    -source - https://kotaku.com/http-youtu-be-vk3tqdualfw-let-me-sooth-your-ears-with-454184862
--I think the integration of Team Fortress 2 soundclips give this track a very goofy yet serious and unique kind of drama, as if you're starting another battle on a battlefield that you've already been fighting on..
Remix by PkMnTrainer Yellow of "Battle! VS Ho-Oh" -
--this rendition uses the Pokemon Black 2/White 2 soundfonts.. Although I haven't heard the song's original version yet, this version seems to manifest as a unique mixing of "ancient legends (Johto's history and Ho-Oh)" with "urban technology (Unova's soundfont)"

Dramatic fanmade compositions made in the style of Pokemon songs:
"Team Zephyr Grunt Theme (Fanmade)" by Lala19357 -
--I finally rediscovered this song after ages of it being lost! XD It seems to convey a battle in which the Pokemon Trainer has to keep track of a dangerous external occurrence while handling a tense battling situation..
"Decisive Battle! Vs. Evil Team Leader" collaboration by ElectricMudkip and EternalSushi -
--I came across this track in the Pokemon X and Y subforum; I feel that it nicely conveys a battle of great betrayal. Per the composers' intentions - "So, ideally, Evil Team Leader themes are usually.. a bit less emotional typically, yeah? They're usually more menacing. And that's all fine and dandy for the average villain--but what if the villain in question was someone you trusted? Someone you truly depended on, and learnt more and more about as your journey progressed? Someone who betrayed you, and this was your last battle against one another after the villain in question finally at the last moment revealed their terribly evil intentions?"
"Pokémon Prism - Gym Leader Battle" by SuperiorLarxene -
--I love the introduction for this song, and how it maintains the rendering of a sense of urgency
"Pokemon: Phoenix Rising Music - Battle! vs. The Guardians" -
--equivalent to a "Gym Leader battle theme"; I also came across it thanks to PokeCommunity
"Fake Pokemon Battle Song" by HLG - https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/147066
--I'm glad I came across this song, it seems fitting for a Legendary Pokemon battle
"Pokemon Battle Music" by Archina - https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/328857

    -YouTube upload -
--came across this a long time ago; it seems so high-energy!
PokeRemixStudio has a lot of good dramatic tracks - offhead, the second remix of the "Kanto Gym Leader battle theme", the remix of the "Hoenn Rival battle theme", and the remixes of the Hoenn Elite 4 battle theme and Hoenn Champion battle theme are songs that I think work well to demonstrate drama.

    Emotional songs (official):
    Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen credits theme
    Dewford Town theme
    Ever Grande City theme

    All the Sevii Island remixes
The song that plays on Kanto Route 11 (east of Vermillion City)!
"Tears After The Cloudy Weather" from the Pokemon anime (so sad!)
That song that plays in "Pikachu's Goodbye" when Ash is running away from Pikachu

    Emotional songs (fanmade):
    Pokemon Garnet title theme -
    Shadefern Forest theme -
