So what about you? Do you always listen to your parents? Do you have complete trust in them and follow them no matter what? Do you take their opinion into consideration, or disregard it entirely?

I have a really close relationship with my mom, but I don't always follow her advice. I do take it into consideration in the same way I would a close friend though. Also generally if she's eaten something and I haven't I'll ask her if I'd like it because she knows these things.

I am close with my parents and I always, at least, consider their advice, because they have more life experience than me, so I would be stupid not to listen to them.

If it is opinions on general items, like money, advice and so on, I will consider it, but if it is technology, it is the other way around. Haha! :3

Heck, no. They only think they know best, and then try to force their opinions on me and try to turn me into another mindless sheep. They've already had their way with my brother, who's basically become their yes-man. I, however, see through them and their attempts to mold me into who they want me to be, rather than who I want to be.

I listen to them, but I take what they say with a grain of salt. Sometimes I end up actually agreeing with them, but more often we'll be at odds over an issue. And there are definite trust issues between us.

Well I have a good relationship with my mom, but we have different opinions on things quite often. I know that when you're little, you find that most things your parents say are true and don't really know any better, but I didn't really have that, at least not for long. I could spot faults in my parents' upbringing of me and my sibling pretty quickly and also in their advice so in that sense I am pretty self-willed. There were a few times though where I didn't listen to my mom and regretted it afterwards because she turned out to be right - and I do believe she knows what's best for me, but sometimes I need to also deviate a bit from that.

My mom is my true best friend. We don't always share the same opions on what to9 do, but at the end of the day we respect and love each . The added bonus is my mom will defend me from anythng even if her own mother were to attack her.

Most of the time I do listen and follow what my parents advise of me. Sometimes I'm just like **** this **** and do what I want though. Not very often but it has happened. My general intelligence has increased substantially in recent months and now I just feel like my dad is patronising the crap outta me at times and I've begun to be like "I KNOW, THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING!" and stuff like that, whereas a few months ago I would have just sat quietly.

I'm really close with both of my parents and they offer me help and advice when I need it. However, there advice is not always the best advice when it comes to certain things.

Depending on what advice I need, sometimes I would rather turn to my friends for help rather than my parents. No doubt, I so trust, care and follow my parents most of the times, but I don't want to feel so reliant on them for everything.

These days I'll only listen to my parents if I find their rules to be reasonable. I never followed my parents orders to do chores or anything because I wanted to be a good little boy, I did it so they'd shut up quicker.

These days, I try to do things myself. I love my parents, but I find they (and the rest of my family) to have some of the worst tastes in music, TV shows, etc ever.

Usually the advice I do ask them for is helpful, but I try to do things myself because sometimes the advice they give isn't the best. Usually my dad is more right than my mom nowadays.

My mom tends to give really, really bad advice most of the time because she can't be bothered to give me the time of day... unless she wants me to do stuff. My dad, however, gives pretty good advice most of the time.

Pretty much this, except I'm fairly close with both parents. I tend to be closer to my mom though just because she's the one I confide in the most about a lot of my problems.

I trust my parents a lot and I really, really value their opinion. If I'm making any big decisions or I'm at a loss for how to solve a problem, I go to them first. I might not always take their exact advice but I almost always end up going along with what they say because I know they have my best interests at heart and we're very like-minded so usually we're on the same page anyway. I never really had any sort of a rebel phase growing up--I've always held them in high regard.

Don't know if I'd say they "know best", but they certainly know better than most people I know. They do have my best interests at heart though.

I have a very close and open relationship with my parents and turn to them for advice and opinions all the time. Advice, I might follow, or at least take into serious consideration. But opinions are my own.

I'd say that I'm close to my parents because I (almost) always follow whatever they say. There are times when I went against them though, but we still love each other all the same.

I'm really close with my parents, although leaning more towards my mom. I do listen to my parents, and I do trust them. I value their opinion, and they aid me when I have to make decisions. And I know that they trust me too. So, I don't have any problems really.

Yeah, I tend to take advice from my parents quite a bit. Though they can give really obvious advice sometimes, even when I don't ask for it, and that can be a bit irritating haha..
But yeah, I'll always consider their advice, but I decide for myself if I should take it- normally it's really sound advice and I do, but it's not always the case.

If my parents have a piece of advice for me, I will hear it out no matter what, it's just the matter of feeling if it's necessary to apply said piece of knowledge to myself or not. I tend to go for it if it's something essential, but it all depends.

I really trust my mother a lot - because she's always there whenever I need something and always helps me out. My dad, well, the opposite. Won't help and is more of a bully, because he always has to use aggression to get his own way.

I trust my parents. They've given me no reason not to trust them; they love me and want what's best for me. Sometimes I don't listen to them, but because they're telling me useful advice that I don't like. The joys of being a stubborn kid. :p
