Quick, name the first five quotes you can think of. Try not to use google or the like, gogogogogo!
Next, name your favorite quotes from any movie or blah blah you know what I mean. Why are they your favorite quotes?
How good are you at calling up quotes from memory?
Lastly, how often do you quote things, be it real life or online?
    Spoiler:

First five quotes, off the top of my head:

"I'm mad as hell, and I'm not gonna take it any more!" (Howard Beale, Network)
"Here's looking at you, kid." (Rick, Casablanca)
"I'll have what she's having!" (Old woman, When Harry Met Sally...)
"These go to 11." (Nigel Tufnel, This is Spinal Tap)
"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the War Room!" (President Muffly, Dr. Strangelove)

The interesting thing is that the above is a mixture of some of my favourite films, and some films that I don't have strong feelings towards. The quotes themselves have just become embedded into my brain.

As for quoting stuff from popular culture, I imagine anyone who's spent 5 minutes around C&M will realise that I have a penchant for quoting Simpsons references; alas, I'm even worse in real life. My brother and I can have entire conversations in Simpson-speak, confusing the hell out of our parents. Apart from that, I know when it's acceptable to quote, and when it's not... I think!

"Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords is no basis for a system of governemt." - Monty Python and the Holy Grail
"I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything's soft and smooth." - Star Wars Episode 2, also WORST SCENE EVER

Aaaaannnddd... that's all I can think of, unless you want me to recite more Monty Python.

I'm seriously awful at pulling movie quotes out of my brain. I've got to have some kind of trigger to stir things up. Most of my quoting is not from movies, but some books, TV, flash videos, or just things that people have said.

The first five quotes I could think of.
"And as long as I have one ass instead of two, I'll wear what I like, if that's alright with you" (Erin Brockovich, Erin Brockovich)
"If the right honourable gentleman could perhaps attend more closely to what I'm saying, rather than how I'm saying it, he may receive a valuable education in spite of himself!" (Margaret Thatcher, The Iron Lady)
"Whoever said orange was the new pink is seriously disturbed" (Elle Woods, Legally Blonde)
"Oh come on. It was just a little bomb" (Jane Smith, Mr & Mrs Smith)
"Always" (Severus Snape, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II)

Other favourite quotes I can think of:
"Oh don't be silly, Andrea. Everybody wants this. Everybody wants to be us" (Miranda Priestley, The Devil Wears Prada)
"I can fight you!" "You will lose." (Father Flynn / Sister Aloysius, Doubt)
"I don't know, I've been told I'm a pretty good writer. Already sold a lot of books!" (Aibileen, The Help)
"You a Godless woman" (Aibileen, The Help)
"I've always wanted to use that spell!" (Minerva McGonagall, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II)

Among so many others. These are all my favourite quotes because they show just how amazing and awesome the characters really are; they define both the characters and the movies and they give me chills each time. The last one is arguably a more comedic moment, but it qualifies regardless. That is the magic of Harry Potter films :P

If you have any idea how long it took me to come up with this list, you'll know that I really suck at quoting things - mostly because I believe that nobody should. I remember quotes that move me all the time, but as a general rule I think quoting anything should be kept out of conversations because it is so lame. So many of what should be classic movies (and even modern ones - read: The Hangover) have just been totally destroyed in my eyes because people didn't know when to shut the hell up and stop quoting them. "Here's looking at you, kid" and "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!" are perfect examples.

"On a long enough lifetime, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero" (Fight Club)

Also, the only other one I can think of right now is a very important one. It's in the spoiler tags; the movie it's from is Fight Club:

    Spoiler:

    Quote of a generation.

Here's another one from Fight Club; yeah, I'm kind of watching the movie at the moment, so these are the quotes stuck in my head:

"You are not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your f****** khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world."

    First five quotes:
"I don't know nothin' 'bout birthing no babies!" - Prissy, Gone With the Wind
"Take your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape!" - Taylor, Planet of the Apes
"Poopsies!" - Ursula, The Little Mermaid
"You're a wizard, Harry!" - Hagrid, The Philosophers Stone (i can't be arsed typing out the full name, everyone go cry in a corner)
"Hey, good lookin'." - Fred (or Daphne??? He was in her body so idk), Scooby-Doo

I'm lazy, so I'll edit this as soon as I can think of any more quotes, lol.
