My Age and Pok?mon gaming, and my current opinion on how the whole market is going...

the one thing that we must never forget is that there are people all over the world who share the same beliefs, positive or negative. what really matters is what you, the individual, believe. if you think that pokemon is something that you can enjoy and thrive in, then that is what matters. age makes no difference. even the creator of pokemon is in his 30s or 40s.

What you just said, Murpheos, is why I can never fully understand other people's idea that Pokemon is for children ages 2-6. I (used to) hear that arguement all the time, about Pokemon not being suitable for people past the age of 12 (and even movie critics said the same about the movies before "Jirachi", but they're all cynics anyway), but they never actually think about who's creating it all.

The people who worked on Pokemon aren't under 12, they're adults who I believe really enjoy the job their doing. It takes a lot of imagination and creativity to come up with all the ideas and concepts of their work, be it musical scores, the games, or the anime. I guess people just want to believe that when you become an adult you leave your imagination behind (unless you're a cartoonist or something to that effect), and focus on "important" things (work, bills... the stuff no one really wants to think about).

I also believe it could be chalked up to cultural differences. For one example, there seems to be a bigger appreciation, if not tolerance, for all things cute in Japan, where it's more of a sign of weakness or babyish in America. I don't know when that concept originated, but there's nothing I can do about it.

for me, Pokemon is for EVERYONE and my school never talks bad about it, mainly because most of us like videogames and especially Nintendo ones... Some other people always say that pokemon is for childish minded people, but they never take into appreciation the amazing works the creators, the workers, the producers, etc. have done. When I mention it, they just keep saying that these people just like to make childish things to earn money, but I don't suppose Shigeru Miyamoto, Satoshi Tajiri, and a bunch of other workers are really doing this for money (well in part yes... of course or the company would be in ruins), since they are videogame lovers and want to make the world happy with their creations... Also, I doubt that some 2-6 years old children (like Kine said) could ever manage to know the in-depth mathematical calculations of the game, like Effort Values, or even ever interested to beat the game, since most pokemon masters are adolescents.. So, in my opinion, age doesn't matter and you must always follow your beliefs, of course, with your own arguments so that you can debate back people contradicting you... ;P

ya...Pokemon is for EVERYONE, regardless of age.

ppl have different ways to enjoy Pokemon in different age.
