My Idea and Proposal

Ok, so we all know PC's Oekaki has been down for a *very* long time. Mainly due to a MySQL error and Steve's lack of attention for it. But even before it went down, it was definitely on a downwards slope. Less people visited, drawings were more and more "doodle"-ish, and moderation was put on the back burner.

That's why I think a partnership between The PokeCommunity and Smeargle's Canvas would be really great. We've already got 220+ members and 31 pages of art. Working together with the forum, we could expand the oekaki and PC wouldn't have to go through the trouble of re-starting the old oekaki, and building from the ground up.

Not to mention SCO can hopefully provide some traffic to the forums for our current members.

Anyways, I think it's kind of a cool idea. Feel free to take this into the staff lounge if you want to discuss this *privately* but please keep me updated with comments, concerns and/or criticisms over PM.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Do you mean the combining Oekaki from each forum to 1 site?

Well, knowing how hard it can be to re-establish, or establish an Oekaki, I definitely think you ought to take it into consideration.

    Benefits
    - The old Admins of the PC Oekaki get their spots at SCO
    - SCO has been around since October '05, and is getting ready to have been open for a year
    - My site is connect to SCO, which links a site that gets 4k-5k unique per day in with the oekaki.
    - No upgrading work for PC staff, I always keep it up to date, not to mention no MySQL or server resources used up for you.

So, I'm going to revive this. I've just doubled the size of the Oekaki with a sketch board, and then the original more professional one. The sketch board just opened, so it doesn't have any images yet, but that's what happens when I did it 20 minutes ago.

PC still doesn't have an Oekaki. Smeargle's Oekaki has been gaining tons of popularity and activity from members.

I'd like you to think once more about a partnership between my Oekaki and this forum. =] It'd be a mutual benefit~

I'm quite fond of this idea. Mainly because of activity within the forum's Oekaki when it was still up wasn't impressive, and there had been grievances caused to the handful of members who were still using it, saving issues being my main example. From what I've observed it was very often neglected, and judging by activity from both members and moderators alike, it was starting to be just a waste of space.

I've peaked at Smeargle's Canvas quite a lot of times and noticed the large amount of activity and artwork produced. And Paul seems willing enough to handle it technically. I'd be quite glad to welcome it along as the new Oekaki for PC.

Sorry, but I think we'll have to decline on this one; Kwesi is currently working on getting the oekaki back up "better than ever," so I think he'd prefer to keep it within the community.

Hope it goes well for you =P The sketch board already has two pages, and there's been about 15 drawings on the main board since I revived this less then a day ago.

So, I guess my offer still stands if Kwesi's board doesn't work out.

It is, but does that make a difference? oO; It's part of my site, MMC, PokePress, PChan, etc etc.

A lot of sites use it. That's why it's one of teh best out there 8D
