Anyone going to be doing it this year? Have you started prepping yet? Do you have any ideas on what you're project will be?

I know this is early, but I wanted to get a head start at getting this recognized. For those that have never heard of this, here is the wiki explanation:

National Novel Writing Month, often shortened to NaNoWriMo, is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization that promotes creative writing around the world. Its flagship program is an annual, international creative writing event in which participants attempt to write a 50,000-word manuscript during the month of November.

I've... kinda started on mine. Mostly, because I've already been struggling with every other one of my stories. x.x Mine, as always, is a Christmas project of done for years that has constantly changed in every possible way in terms of characters and face claims. XD

I don't think I'll be doing it this year as November has always been a busy month for me. Past Nanos I would participate with a current WIP fanfic but usually not the goal of 50k, and that might be the same for me if I decide to do it last minute haha.

The fact they say it's ableist to shame people who use gen AI to write? Not considering it ever now.
Honestly. The idea that being anti-theft is ableist is ridiculous. Also, the fact that they have an AI company as a sponsor makes it pretty clear what actually motivated this stance. I'm not sure if I'm more angry about them supporting the use of AI at all, their half-assed attempt to walk the statement back a bit without upsetting their sponsor or the fact that they tried to veil their corporate interests behind claims of supporting people with disabilities or lower socio-economic standing.

I've never been to something like this before, so I probably underestimated myself. I feel like I'm not good enough.
