Have you read George R.R. Martin, Robert Jordan, Orson Scott Card, Raymond E. Feist, Laurell K. Hamilton, Robert Silverberg, Tad Williams, or Kinley MacGregor? If you have please tell me what were your favorite books of theirs that you read and why you enjoyed them so much?

I've read Martin, Jordan, and Card. Out of all of them, Martin was definately my favorite, with Card bing a close second, followed by Jordan.

I chose Martin because he has a definate talent for keeping the reader emotionally involved in the story and of creating or destroying empathy for a character. He also shows a frim command of the English language in his writing and a degree of historical and mythological intelligence that is very refreshing in his books. Finally, he didn't tell the generic fantasy story (which is not necessarily a bad thing), instead writing a vivid and multifacted world without truly good or evil motives. His characters too, are uniquely human and fallible.

Hi Ozie, thanks for posting. So you've read A Song of Ice and Fire series, excellent books. Did you read the most recent book? Also for Mr. Card, which of his series did you read?

For George R.R. Martin, I'm in the process of reading A Feast For Crows. So far it is an excellent novel and I'm really enjoying it :)

Did I read Orson Scott Card? Yes I did! I read both the Game Series and the Shadow Series; also read Lost Boys, Homebody, Treasure Box, and Magic Street.

Loved them all. :3 Though I can pick out my favorite, Xenocide from the Game Series. Actually, all the books from that series are my favorites. XD And why do I enjoy Card so much? Because his characters feel so real to me, that I could meet them on the streets. And I like that. Plus, his story lines are so great.
