    A couple newbie questions.

I've seen several cards with wide discrepancies in prices. For example, Flygon ex 92/101Dragonite ex 91/101

maybe some others with /101. I've gathered there are two versions of some cards even though they have the same number. One version was released in a World Championship set, and the other version was prior to it being released in the set. Since WC cards are not playable from what I understand but the pre-WC versions of these cards are, the non-WC versions are much more valuable. Is this correct? Am I using correct terminology?

Second question. I'm sure a lot of newbies eventually ask something to the effect of, will any of these cards possibly be worth a lot of money, like 20 years from now? Or since they keep dumping new a better looking cards with better stats on the market in such mass quantities, do the values on all these cards follow a hump, they go up, then they gradually fall to nothing after 5 or 10 years? I suppose some of the very first cards released and the cards that won Championships released before the WC release may have some collector potential?

Oh, and to show how clueless I am, (I'm just starting to browse cards to buy). What is the indicator on the card if it is a WC card?

Help me get a clue. Thanks.

I don't know about all that other stuff you were saying, but as for your second question: don't hold your breath. Cards aren't valuable unless they saw limited release. And for the vast majority of cards, that isn't the case. Unless there's some massive Pokemon Card Purge in the next 20 years, the cards won't increase in value too much.
