surprised this hasn't been made yet!

so anyway, the indie world showcase was yesterday o: was there any indie game(s) that were shown that managed to catch your attention? some you're looking forward to, perhaps?

Honestly, this was an awful presentation. Awful. It was perhaps one notch above the State of Play that aired a few hours before it, which isn't saying a lot, considering the State of Play's only noteworthy announcement was that Ghosts of Tsushima will be at The Game Awards this year.

I've downloaded Dauntless already though and I MAY give it a try in the next few days if I can spare the time. As a Monster Hunter fan I'm curious to see if this measures up in any way. It certainly LOOKS pretty, although so did World and that game was...less than brilliant. Putting it kindly. World was a colossal step back from Generations Ultimate in every way that mattered. But I digress.

Axiom Verge 2 caught my eye somewhat, although that's mostly because I was extremely impressed with the first - I mean, it's made by one person. And it's better than many games in the same genre developed by an entire team. That takes real talent, and I'm interested to see how this one measures up.

Supermash seems interesting in concept. i want to wait for reviews before i make the decision on whether or not to get it bc i am a bit cautious, here. that and i'm kinda picky on what games i want to play, anyway

i also got Monster Hunter vibes from Dauntless, but im still debating whether i should get into it or not. World was my first Monster Hunter game ever since MH4U for the 3DS and i didn't have fun at all, so... idk.

Liberated also caught my attention, but that's moreso for the unique aesthetic and gameplay.

i think that's about it. overall i'd give this indie showcase a solid C+. a few interesting games, but i wasn't overly hyped by any of them.

I've seen Supermash and a dating sim with a similar premise to Soul Eater in my YouTube recommendations feed, but I haven't actually been curious enough to watch the whole thing! From general opinion it seems the event wasn't too huge, so I guess it's alright to miss it. I agree that Supermash looks interesting, since there are a lot of fun combinations that the devs seem to have had fun with.
