It's out! Not that many OSTs atm, but they will add more.
It's already started. I only listen to one Nintendo OST, and even before this app was announced, the playlist that I had saved on Youtube was deleted. The one I found after that has also now been deleted, and I'm so glad that I found another way to get this one OST without having to rely on Youtube. Other people have found the same with other OSTs.But I fear this means Nintendo will go crazy on OST available on YouTube.
Well, the day it launched it had a small selection, and then like 24 hours later they added Mario Wonder to the app, so it looks like they're working on getting their popular titles up on there. It's already started. Which I get why Nintendo is doing this, but it's going to be a long time before I'll be willing to pay for this service. (I don't have a NSO account at any rate.)
I am curious as to what the upload rate will be to this app. And if there will be any patterns to it.
I don't really care about OSTs to be honest, so I'm not interested in the app. But I fear this means Nintendo will go crazy on OST available on YouTube.
Same here, Nintendo's already not exactly been merciful when it comes to their OSTs; and them being an actual part of their business now could incentivize them to kick things up a notch and go full nuclear.Yeah, that's my biggest worry too. Nintendo are really trigger happy with that sort of thing and way too eager to keep things under their purview. I don't hate this idea conceptually though at the least and it is free if you've already got Nintendo Online which - lbr - most of us do. So it's not like it's an unreasonable service or anything at least. I'm just concerned for the wider implications.
