    Okay, so No$GBA keeps randomly lagging for no apparent reason. See, you would think it would run quick on Windows XP that is optimized for performance while having a dual core 2.8 GHz processor, a very good video card which I don't remember, and 2 GB of RAM. But nope. It runs fine on Vista and Ubuntu using Wine, which doesn't make sense at all.

    Here are my settings:

    Things to know:

    I am only running three programs while playing. My antivirus, Mozilla, and Camtasia. But it freezes when I am only running no$GBA and nothing else.

    Also, it doesn't lag at certain parts. It just lags randomly. For example:

    I will train on Route 31 for five minutes then it will start to lag after 5-7 minutes. I will save and turn it off. I will do that again, it wont lag at all.

    :| It just randomly started lagging for no reason. :/ I've never had problems before.

    Well, if I recall correctly, there are instances that no$GBA lags at random points in Pokemon games for the DS... mostly the RPG ones... like me when I play the Pokethon for HGSS, at some point, it lags so badly, I had to turn it off, or the slot machines... your settings are practically the same as mine... so... o__o;;

    So it will always lag, no matter how high your memory is... I suppose your best bet is moving from one location to another... and avoid the mini-games... xD;;

    No, it's not that. Mainly because it didn't always do it and if that was the case, it would be. Thanks though. ;;

    If this problem is exclusive to XP it might just be something about your XP install. When you say you optimized it for performance what exactly did you do? Just set everything to classic theme or are we talking monkeying around deeper down?
    Also, video card has pretty much no bearing if you're using nocash to render. :p

    Not entirely related, but I will be one to suggest trying opengl though. Maybe not in XP, but definitely in Ubuntu. I have a 2.4ghz iMac from 2007 and the opengl renderer works fine in most areas. (that is, when Wine and/or OS X's X11 got to where they could do the opengl renderer without freezing.) 3D-heavy areas like Jubilife slow it down a bit, but your computer is significantly more powerful than mine.

    I guess that the lagging occurs because of a PC not strong enough. I play most of the games and it never lags! (I'm using No$Gba 2.6a at the moment.)

    BTW My PC specifications are as follows:
    Core2duo 1.6
    3 gb ram
    512 MB Nvidia 8 series graphics card
    Windows Vista Home Basic

    It really doesn't lag. I think that if you're not able to get any solutions even by trying to optimise settings and doing all the other things possible, then its just because of the hardware. Or maybe....just maybe...it could be a virus! XD
    No seriously, some viruses slow down the PC. They won't harm but will slow the PC to a crap! >_<

    Oh sorry, I just noticed that now! XD
    It may be lagging coz of a virus or some other program that's running(and you don't know about it.). I really can't think of something else as a reason. :\

    I had this problem took, but I use No$Gba 2.6 or 2.6a. These won't leg that quick (only at Pokéthlon :$)
