Hi all, hope you all had a great memorial day weekend!
An eventful thing happened for my six year old, he got his first couple of Pokémon cards and the fuse has been lit. Problem is, I know nothing about it so I'm trying to learn fast. Budget is tight on this hobby for us (two other kids under six, some of you might understand that) so I got him a starter deck then looked on ebay for some more cards.
He's going to school today, very excited but I'm afraid some of the older kids might take advantage of him on trades, can't help that I suppose and generally he doesn't have anything of value, I just know he cares a ton even for the commons he has.
Anyway, I have a few goals:
1. Learn the game so that I can share in the hobby and play against him, teach him how to play (we watched a decent YouTube video so far)
2. Figure out a good deal on some common cards so that he has a bunch to trade, I've checked ebay but have no knowledge of what is reasonable or what isnt. If anyone could link me to some fair prices that would help. I plan on trying to buy a few less common cards for his bday, again, no clue.
3. Support my son's interests.
So that's me, glad to be here, excited for any help these forums bring. Typing from my phone, sorry if this post isn't any good.
Thanks,
Guy from Milwaukee
