I'm following a guide to insert & replace Tiles into A-Map, but am just not able to do it.

I'm trying to insert new Tiles in the bottom Tileset, on the main Map in Littleroot Town.

I first saved Tileset 2, making sure that the Palettes were similar to my Tile (do they have to be exactly the same), opened it with Paint, inserted my new Tile into it & loaded the Tileset back into A-Map (just for you info, I also made sure that both length & breadth of my Tile were divisible by 8), but the Tile I insert just does not show up on the Tileset. I tried inserting different Tiles, but none of them show up on A-Map. I can't understand what I'm doing wrong, please help out!

You can't just save a tileset image under any palette and then put your tiles in there and resave and reinsert and expect them to be there. msPaint doesn't do in increments of 8 and doesnt index your images. You need to take your tiles, put them into irfanView and index them down to 16 colors only. Save that file and then open up TileHelperAdvance and then convert it to advancemap colors and then save the tileset image with the new colors and save the palette file also from THA in whichever advancemap you're using. Insert the palette you just saved into the palette you wanna replace in the advancemap program and then once the colors change visually you can save tileset 2 then with the updated colors and open up the image you just saved of your tiles from the THA program and then drag and drop them into the new tileset image, reinsert and you should be good. Here are the links for download of programs:

    Programs You'll Need
(or at least what I'm using)
    ● TileHelperAdvance - Click here to download
AdvanceMap 1.95 or if you are like SOME PEOPLE, use 1.92 because 1.95 can be buggy but hey, I have been hacking with BOTH versions (1.92 only version I can import block lists yatta yatta)
msPaint or whatever paint program you want, even photoshop works

That's quite an elaborate tutorial. I'll try to follow it & see how it works. Hopefully it will :)

By the way, should I use MS Paint or Photoshop, which is better?

Also I use always Photoshop for Indexing, can I can use that instead of Irfanview?

Elaborate but the easiest method. Literally you see how fast I can insert tiles. I can insert a whole new tileset of new images and have them in blocks ready to go in less than an hour. PS is okay for indexing instead but I would use mspaint for all your pixelated needs as PS likes to mess these up on smaller scales
