I've been here about a month but haven't made an introduction thread yet, so Wynaut?

I'm here for ROM hacking - discovered it about six months ago and have been working on my own hack ever since. I'm waiting until I have significant progress to post it, though. But in the meantime just wanted to say hi!

Been a massive Pokemon fan since the beginning. Stopped playing the GameBoy/NDS games around Gen 4, started battling competitively online instead. Got very into competitive battling and was on Showdown daily for a couple years, but now I've almost stopped in favor of ROM hacking.

Anyway, when I was starting to get comfortable navigating around this site, I found this sub-forum and was impressed by how welcoming and supportive everybody is here. Hope everyone has an Uncommonly good day!

I was so surprised that name did not get taken, but you should feel proud for snapping it up. Welcome aboard on that note Uncommon!

So, a ROM hacker... not exactly my best department so not much knowledge here unless if you plan to explore the ROM Hacking section and find out for yourself. What we do know is that there's tools and resources used for creating hacks and also a place where you can download and play other hacks on display.

I can see why ROM Hacking has taken over everything else for you, since I heard loads of people hated a lot of the most recent Pokemon games and wanted to make change and do things their own way, so good luck with all that. See you and best of luck with your projects!

Hacking is a fantastic thing and really lets you put your creativity to use.. I remember constantly playing through Johto remake hacks like Shiny Gold and Liquid Crystal since HG/SS weren't out yet. Those were some good times. Welcome to PC, Uncommon. <3

Glad you're liking the forum so far! Makes me very happy to hear. :) Personally I don't have much knowledge as far as actual hacking goes but I did enjoy the fangames in the past so here's hoping I can try out some of the newer, popular ones soon (like Glazed.. really gotta try that). Enjoy your time here and please let us know if you ever need some help!

Oh hey there and welcome to PC! nice to meet you!

ROM Hacking? that's amazing! even if I know nothing about it, looks like you do! I'm sure you're going to do a great job, and I wish you luck with your project! and you played since the 1st gen, that's really cool. I started with the 3rd gen. I can understand why you left competitive, since ROM Hacking is your main priority, but if you ever want to, we have a Showdown server that maybe you want to check.

Oh, if you ever need help with anything, you can ask me! I wish you luck, have fun and cheers! :)

Thanks for the welcome! I'll definitely check out that Showdown server sometime, I'm always up for a good battle!

Yeah I was surprised about the name, too! Glad I got something easy to remember :)!

ROM hacking is super fun, but it's also super time-consuming, since not everything's documented well. It's an uphill battle to learn the fundamentals, but once you get past that things even off. I see it as an opportunity to add my own ideas to a series that I love. It's actually really fascinating to get an inside look at the games, too. I now understand why certain things work the way they do, and I have a whole new perspective on what was always my favorite series of games and a whole new appreciation for the people who made them!

Yes, definitely try Glazed! It's awesome and easily one of the most well-made hacks out there. I've been playing a bunch of hack games to gather ideas for my own, and Glazed is certainly one of the best.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
