I'm trying to set up an unrelated brand new oekaki.
I know a little coding and a little html and such, but for whatever reason, this blows my mind away. i can't even begin to figure out the "newbie" section.

I looked on google for help, it actually linked me here, in 2006, someone had a problem similar to mine and people were quite helpful.. i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me install it? In exchange i can do some poke-art, or give you some shiny pokemon in black/white? I might be able to paypal a few dollars your way if you install it for me.. i just really want to get this moving and am completely stumped.
    Thanks <3

Well to start with if you're developing some sort of online paint program, which an Oekaki basically is, you'll need to know java or some sort of programming language. And if you aren't looking to do it yourself you'd probably have to look into hiring a web designer which would come at a price.
If you're just trying to install one and then set a theme to it though it'd help if you could tell us what sort of software you were thinking of installing.

    Sorry,
I'm trying to follow these guidelines:
    ninechime.com/products/Wacintaki_Poteto/manual.html#i5 (homepage is here https://www.ninechime.com/products/ )
And no; i'm just trying to install a generic oekaki. nothing special or out of the ordinary. Just plain and simple :)
On that website, i tried to install it myself, and i got stuck at Step 5 :(

Well that part is the simple part. All you're doing is filling in stuff like the Oekaki's name and such.

First of all, go to your websites name and then type in /oekaki after it. So for example www.pokemonoekaki.com/oekaki or if you adding in some other directories it could be www.pokemonoekaki.com/oekaki/draw or it could even be in the root folder and be just www.pokemonoekaki.com/

After that I've written up a few instructions for some parts that would've stumped me.
    Spoiler:

I've left out most of the other parts because they have there own explanation written bellow them.

Hopefully this helps, if you're still stuck just let me know which part you're struggling with.

That's the part i'm stumped with. When i type in the URL that is supposed to work, i keep getting 404'd. I typed in:
    mywebsite.com
    mywebsite.com/index.php
    mywebsite.com/install.php
    mywebsite.com/oekaki
    mywebsite.com/oekaki/index.php
    mywebsite.com/oekaki/install.php
Nothing works. I can't move on to the next step if i keep getting 404d at this step. I've CHMODed the files to 755, and still 404. :(

    I tried both.

Login is at: https://x10hosting.com/ and the control panel where you can start editing things is: https://boru.x10hosting.com:2083/logout/?locale=en

It's a dedicated site; It's one of those freebie sites, so there is nothing else on it. I tried making an oekaki folder.... had that problem. So i tried uploading it to the main section (no folder) and still had the same problem.
Since it's a dedicated website and there is nothing on it other than my attempts at this oekaki, I can give you access, and you can peek around to see if you see what the problem is? you can either PM me here or email JuliefooJojo87 at Gmail
Thanks so much for your help <3

When i have my own .com hosted by godaddy, they have a public html folder.. but when i set this one up, it just had an empty folder when i opened up the FTP... with a folder at the top titled "..."
When i clicked on the folder "..." nothing happens.
So that's the folder that i put all of the files i needed into... and yes, only the files in the "oekaki" folder from the zip file.
at the moment, i have all the files from the oekaki folder, plus i added an additional folder titled "oekaki" and re-loaded all the files into that folder too.
Still stumped. i tried chmoding them to 777.. nothing.
