4th Gen OMG, found a shiny

    I just got my first shiny in Diamond! :)
    Actually, its the first shiny I have gotten since my elekid in pokemon gold, but you can't even count that one because their is a 50% chance of that egg being shiny.
    I got it using the pokeradar on the 17th pokemon, caught a lv.17 meditite.
    Though, while trying to get a shiny ponyta, restarted the radar after about the 21st pokemon to try and find a shiny and continued to restart it without running into any non-shiny grasses(haven't found one yet). I am still kinda a noob at this, but is that what your supposed to do?

    Gratz!! I found my first ever shiny (in any pokemon game) a few days ago, twas a level 31 golbat, and I wasn't even chaining, in fact i didn't even have my 4th badge!! o_o

    Now I have 30 shinies, due to trading online lol!!

    I am envious, I have tried chaining and only made it to 12. I saw a shiny real early in my game, but no dang pokeball - I now carry 99 of each pokeball with me lol. One day I will get one. Congrats to those who have.
     
    Very nice for you. I never ever got a shiny before. I actually don't know why. Bad luck maybe?
     
    I count this my first shiny(elekid doesn't count), I just dont know how those people with like 50 legit shinys do it.
     
    They either chain for them, or they cheat, and just say its a legit shiny from the tip of their of heads. But congratz, with the 1/8192 chance of finding one. ^-^
     
    I think this thread is gonna get closed cause stuff like that goes in to the Sinnoh Journey Journal thread.
     
    i hope it wont close, cause along with the excitement I also have some Qs about chaining
     
    Thanks for the link, believe me I read it up and down, It just doesn't state for how long to keep reseting for? Or if you keep doing it until you find a shiny.
    I am an airhead, so if you can prove me wrong do so
     
    After you get a high possible chain of 40 its make it so your making likely to run into a shiny patch more often, so it depends, you may have to reset the radar a lot to get a shiny to appear.
     
    While it's nice that you have found a shiny, making a thread for it is just pointless.
    Rather drop a reply in the Journey Journal, or one of the several Shiny Discussion threads, please.
