Original pokemon ending

Hello guys:

I'm a big fan of the original pokemon. When does the show finally split into what was considered the new pokemon? I know Season 2 has the original pokemon, but does it end sometime during the second season? or does it continue through and terminate sometime in the third?

at the end of Johto:

Ash goes to Hoenn & Misty is called back to her gym while her sisters go on a cruiz, I think Brock goes back to his gym for a while as well.

Later, in Hoenn, Ash meats up with May & Max, then soon afterwards, Brock rejoins Ash.

While Misty was no longer in the main group, she DID make an apparence in the Mirage Kingdom, where Togepii evolved and left. Misty returns to the gym

Yeah, "new" Pokemon is considered to be Advance Generation onwards, since its the first time the Japanese changed the series of the show.

The Second Generation of Pokemon was introduced in the Johto Region.

But yes, like Jorah said, as of right now, Advanced Gen. (with May/Max) and up are conscidered new.

The first part was in Kanto, then Johto, then Hoenn, then Sinnoh. The show is STILL going on if you misunderstood before.
