Pokémon Aesthetic Red - A Visual and Musical Overhaul of Fire Red

[PokeCommunity.com] Pokémon Aesthetic Red - A Visual and Musical Overhaul of Fire Red (V1.1 Final)

    Introduction

Aesthetic Red is a Fire Red ROM hack that takes a completely different approach to reinventing the Kanto journey. This isn't yet another enhancement hack trying to add as many features as possible…

Instead, Aesthetic Red is all about enhancing the visual and musical experience of Pokémon. All of the graphics have been changed to create a vibrant aesthetic, inspired by the DS and Game Boy. It also has a brand new soundtrack, with each song chosen to give a refreshing and immersive vibe. On top of that, we've also upgraded the gameplay side of things with new QoL and features, an open world, major rebalancing and more.

    What this hack offers:

    • Complete Visual & Musical Overhaul with vibrant graphics and a refreshing soundtrack
    • Open-World Kanto and Sevii Islands: No HM restrictions, Gyms can be challenged in any order
    • All Gen 1-2 Pokémon available with related evolutions
    • New Features: Reusable TMs, Portable PC, Infinite Rare Candy, Wonder Trade, Move Tutors and more! Optional Level Scaling, Level Caps, Doubles Mode and Randomizers
    • Major Rebalancing: New Base Stats, Abilities, Learnsets, Type Changes and more (Faithful Version available if you don't want rebalancing)
    • Increased Difficulty: Improved AI and Trainers, reimagined Gym Leaders & Boss Trainers

The hack comes in 3 different versions:

    • Normal Version: Full game with new music, graphics and features
    • Faithful Version: Same as above but without rebalancing (official Base Stats, Abilities, Learnsets, Type Changes and Type Table)
    • Music & Graphics Only: New music and graphics while keeping the vanilla gameplay
Normal and Faithful Versions come with 2 Patches, so you can play with either GBC or DS Font and Battle Sprites.

Note: While some players will prefer the vanilla balance, we recommend playing Normal Version to fully experience the boss teams as designed, as Faithful Version loses new Ability changes, reducing boss difficulty.

I seen this Hack on the internet i got curious i see it's just Gen 1 & 2 with the Cross Evos from other games but Open World + Music from other games? That's a twist i am happy with my question is can i Complete the Pokedex and can i have a kinda Vanilla game with no Level scaling just with the Level Cap? What i am trying to say is can i Customize my Experience with the Hack?

You can complete the Pokedex. Your experience can be customised by enabling/disabling certain options in the player's bedroom (including Level Scaling and Level Caps)

Everything you need to know is included in the thread :)

Patching Faithful Version, yet natures are still not there. This whole romhack doesn't use natures/EV/IV system? This is kinda wild.. kills replayability for me.

Both versions remove those to remove grinding/competitive intricacies - to push a more casual-friendly experience which was our intent. The differences of Faithful Version are listed near the top of the thread - Learnsets, Stats, Abilities etc.

I absolutely understand your way of thinking about it and support it. I'm all in for a casual experience. But, removing all three (IV, EV, natures) makes every single species you caught absolutely the same, every single play through. Even leaving any single one in a faithful patch would be a much better experience, at least personally for me.

From a casual perspective they're the same in the official games as well, besides an insignificant difference on some of the stats. The abilities and movesets are what matters :)

I would beg to differ, the removal of natures and so forth, is actually made up for by the number of different play-styles this hack offers. Plus, while casual, there is a decent bit of challenge when going up against the gym leaders, so it's not necessarily a walk in the park.

So I hate asking gameplay questions, but I searched in the Discord and two people asked the same question but nobody answered (at least as of last night).

Where is the Day-Care Man? He isn't chilling outside, and when the Day-Care lady finds an egg, she just says "My husband is looking for you"

I checked the Game Corner in case he was goofing off, but no dice xD

Is breeding locked behind gym progression?

Which Day Care - Route 5 or Four Island? It's not locked behind gym progression unless there's some flag in vanilla that I'm unaware of

I tried to block the sun made by Drought on Blaine's gym but Cloud Nine didn't work. Is it because of how the gym is scripted or is that a bug? Thanks a lot!
Normal or Faithful Version? As Normal Version makes Weather Abilities permanent, which might be the reason why this is happening

Route 5...totally forgot there was one in the Sevii Islands too xD
Turns out this was something we missed from the original release, thanks for pointing it out. Just updated the patches to add her husband outside!
