Pokémon: Realm Edition [Ideas Thread]

Introduction:

Hello, I am Darthatron. You may remember me from such things as, my many hacking tools, or perhaps my hacking tutorials... Anyway, I'm bored and decided to make a hack, loosely based around Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, very loosely. >_>

Here it is:

Story:

You live in a large city in the heart land of the region known as 'Pento'. You've lived there your whole life, but deep down, you've always wanted to travel. One day you and your friend Buzz decide to go exploring around the out skirts of the city, but your mother tells you to be back for dinner.

Mother: Where are you going?
You: Out.
Mother: When will you be back?
You: Later.
Mother: Well, be back before dark, I worry about you.
You: ...Whatever.
*You leave the room before she has a chance to speak*

While you are out side looking around with your friend you find a small cave. You both go inside and take a closer look around. After a while you find a shrine, you look at the shrine and then suddenly a strange figure comes out of nowhere. Everything is dark, and you wake up in your bed.

But it's not your bed! This isn't even your room! You have no idea where you are, you look around and go down stairs, you look around and realize this isn't your house, you see your mother and she says something to you...

Mother: Finally! You're awake!
You: Where... Am... I?
Mother: Don't be silly. You're at home, and if you don't hurry you will miss your meeting with Professor Yew!
You: What...? What are you talking about...?
Mother: Ugh. You must be sick, or something. You've been looking forward to this day for years.

*Mother walks over to you*

Mother: Well, you don't have a fever... Maybe you're just excited.
You: What's going on...?
Mother: Go on then, get going!

*Mother walks behind you and pushes you out the front door*

That's not the whole story, I have the whole thing saved in a .txt file on my computer, but that should be enough to get you excited. :D

Here is a list of my current ideas for the main features of the game:

very interesting story and idea, it seems like "child go from real world to pokeworld" a little bit like digimon xD but well, i really like the story (and i liked digimon xD), and i'd really love to play this!^_^
a question, on which rom is this based? firered?

Currently it's just the normal FireRed Tiles, I have no graphics skills what so ever. >_> I'll probably end up just changing the palettes around.

I can insert tiles fine, thanks anyway. The only thing I have trouble with is making tiles/sprites. :P

Can you map yourself? if not me and ZetKa will help you, FoR Maps are nearly finished and LoF maps are finished til the end of the first beta, so there should be some spare time for your hack
if you need them, i could give you the tiles, palettes and block data of ice and desert tilesets from my soon released rombase

Currently the Pokemon that teleports you into the Pokemon world is a secret to everyone, except me. So fi you like just make a user bar with any Legendary Pokemon, I will make sure they all have their own events, anyway. :)

the story is pretty good, but will it say the player's name or will "you" have a different text(e.g colour, size,etc.)?
i know you will make a great hack with your, vast lets say, amount of knowledge in the hacking industry. You seem to handle almost everything well, except i haven't seen a single map of yours.
Now for the questions.

It says there is a shrine, which reminds me of celebi. Is that the future when pokemon are extinct or does something happen and you get transported somewhere far away?
Is something going to happen in realm edition that was in FFTA, like someone throwing a snowball with a rock or you getting transported into a book(or maybe even meeting luso)?
Thats all i have about the game for now.I have one personal question...
do you have FFTA2 or plan on getting it?

I really like the concept of the game and hope to see more of it in the near future.
i'm sure this will make a great hack seeing as how the leader is you.

I will have the Player's name when I script it all, but I think it's easier to read when it's not scripted yet. >_>

Well I never really spent much time on mapping before, however I've done them, just never uploaded them. >_>

There is a shrine, indeed. But due to my lack of knowledge of Pokemon, I doubt I will get what I think the Pokemon can do, and what they can actually do correct. I can say this, it's not time travel. You get transfered from the "Real World", in to the "Pokemon World".

Well, unlike FFTA you don't start in a part of the world filled with snow... So no snowballs... No. :( No book either. When I said based on FFTA I really meant the Defeating the Totema's part of it. Which is what some of the legendary Pokemon are for. >_>

Currently I don't have a DS, but when I get one, the first 3 games I get will be: FFT2:A (Final Fantasy Tactics 2: Advanced), Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Symphony, and Super Mario 64: DS. :P
