Chapter 1: Welcome to the Academy
Josh, a thirteen year old boy, was excited. He was finally able to go to Cinnabar Pok?mon Academy! Josh had brown hair and wore a blue shirt which accented his blue eyes. His black shorts were getting a bit itchy.
The founder, Hannah Fletcher, took Josh to his dorm. She wore a lab coat and glasses. Her eyes and hair were both brown and tied into a ponytail at the back.
"Mr. Bates, here is your dorm," she said handing him some keys and a rulebook. "We will meet at six o'clock in the reception hall. I imagine you will be there on time,"
"Yes sir!" said Josh. "I mean mam!"
Hannah shook her head and walked off. Josh took a look around the hallway. It was lined with heaps of green doors. Josh looked at his own. It was Room 62A. Josh kept a mental note of that. He put the shining silver key in and turned it. It unlocked. Josh turned the silver handle leading into his room. He walked in and looked around the room. It smelt nice and fresh, creamy walls around, bathroom to his left, two beds, a computer desk and cupboards.
The young boy flung his luggage to the ground and lay on the bed to his right. The ceiling had a big fan on it. Now that Josh was looking at the wall which was behind him when he arrived, he saw a lightswitch and a switch for the fan.
Josh was about to close his eyes when he heard a knock on the door. He stuck his head up to look. A girl around his age had just arrived. She had long brown hair tied into a ponytail which was the same colour as her eyes. She was wearing a green shirt with a yellow and black Pok? Ball on it. Looking at her head again, Josh noticed a blue bandanna with a white Pok? Ball on it. Completely white. Looking back down, the young boy noticed the girl was wearing a blue skirt. In Josh's opinion she was beautiful.
"Excuse me!" she said. "My name's Emma I'm in Room 62B. I noticed this door was open so I decided to come and visit. So who are you?"
"Uh... uh..." Josh said still gawking at her. "Josh is my name. I'm in Room 62A,"
"Uhh... Yeah," Emma said. "I noticed. So where are you from?"
Josh sighed. He knew he'd have to tell someone at some point (Even the reader). "I'm from an orphanage on Shamouti Islands. I displayed enough skills at Pok?mon and the orphanage organizers were nice enough to let me come here!"
"I see..." Emma said feeling a bit guilty about asking. "I'm sorry I asked,"
"That's okay!" Josh said sighing. "You'd find out anyway. So do you want to take a walk around the academy before six? It's only an hour away,"
Emma checked her watch. He was right. She had nothing to do anyway. "Okay! Just let me get ready!"

Josh waited outside Emma's room. She had been in there for ages. Soon, Emma came out. The only difference Josh noticed was that she wore a blue skirt and had sandals on.
"What took you so long?" Josh asked.
"What do you mean?" asked Emma with a puzzled look on her face. "I only took five minutes!"
Josh took her wrist and looked at her watch. She was right. "Sorry!"
"That's okay!" Emma replied. "Let's get going to the lake. We only have fifty five minutes left!"
"Only?" Josh asked in a sarcastic tone.

Soon, the two arrived at the lake. But it didn't look as glamorous as they thought.
"Is this it?" asked Emma.
"Yep!" Josh replied. "I checked the map! It's called Magikarp Lake. But from the looks of things and Pok?mon. It should be called Grimer Lake!"
Emma and Josh sat down on a bench a several metres away from the lake.
"Who would've thought that lake would be so gross?" Emma asked. "Way too gross. All of those Grimer. Just scar-AAAAHHHHHHH!!!" she screamed interrupting her sentence. Josh looked at Emma. She was being attacked by a Grimer.
"Emma!" he yelled pulling her away from the Grimer and standing several metres back. The grimer was closing in. Josh looked behind him. He was trapped. Only a brick wall. Grimer edged closer. Josh closed his eyes and braced himself. Grimer edged closer. A strong stench came to Josh's nose. Grimer yelled as he attacked Josh. Suddenly, it was stopped. Grimer got blasted into the where Josh and Emma had been standing. They ran off just before Grimer made contact. Now that they were actually looking, they saw Hannah Fletcher standing behind a turtle Pok?mon. It was blue. Shell was yellow on the front but brown on the back.
"Thanks Hannah!" Emma said, breathing heavily.
"It's dangerous out here!" the principal said. "Go to the Reception Hall and don't come to the lake until the Grimer are eliminated. Okay?"
"Yes!" Josh said. "Come on Emma. Let's go. It's ten to six anyway,"
The two walked off and Hannah made sure they got to the reception hall safely. They walked in. It had tables everywhere, the walls were brown wood and the stage was directly in front. Hardly anyone was there so Emma and Josh decided to sit down at the front table.
They looked at the stage. The technicians were setting everything up.
Emma looked at her watch. Six o'clock. The crowds were about to come in any second...

Ya I think its good too, but trainer fan-fics are becoming more and more cliqu? all the time eg. first pokemon by a prof, maybe someone joins in, which is why I discontinued mine because of the trends, but if you add a bit more description on what going on I think that yours would stand out for a trainer fan-fic that I would want to read.

But overall I still liked it ^^.

My main concern with this fic is the actual flow of it. Most of it just seemed like a list... and that's not exactly the greatest for a fic, especially an OT fic - since people strive to make OT fics as different as possible, as not to conform to the trend of general terribleness (is that a word?). But... yeah - when describing, it really seemed exremely monotonous, in that everything seemed to be laid out like a list.

What I like is that it's not just a Person-goes-to-Professor-and-gets-a-Pokemon fic. The school element is certainly not common within trainer fics (the only other one is Serach for Knowledge by GN77 on SPP), so I look forward to see how this progresses and so forth. ^_^
