[Completed] Pokemon A Gangster's Revenge - (Complete Version)

DEVELOPER'S NOTE

Hello, I am ShuckleSubordinate,
the solo developer who worked on this Pokémon fan game made using Pokémon Essentials and RPG Maker XP.

In December 2024, I decided to start a Pokémon fangame purely for fun and challenged myself to complete it within one year. What you're seeing now is the result of that year long effort, built in the limited time I could find along the way.
If the game doesn't fully meet your expectations, I appreciate your understanding, as this is my first complete project, and I'm committed to improving both quality and scope in future games I plan to develop. With that being said, please do read all the content and do enjoy the game, thank you everyone!

About the Game

Pokémon AGR
is a story-driven Pokémon fangame set in the Fellmoor Region, depicting a world where corruption exists beyond what's openly shown.

Rather than following a traditional gym-to-gym adventure, you will battle "Kings" who are gangsters in this region. The game lets you play as an ex-gangster who lost his family and is bent on getting revenge. As you progress, you'll encounter law enforcement, gangs, civilians, and underground influences, all operating under their own motivations. Information is rarely handed to you directly; much of the story is uncovered through dialogue, observation, and exploration.

This project was built with a strong focus on atmosphere, environmental storytelling, and grounded character interactions. You will find funny NPCs that have customized dialogues and might come across as edgy, but that is the kind of setting in this game.

Your discord link is wrong.

I'm at the part where the woman lets you into the black market cuz of the VIP thing, but my character moves to the left to move two of my guys in, and then they don't go in, making me unable to move as well. Any fix for this?
That generally doesn't happen, but sometimes it's possible due to some timing error from the speed up plugin. In this case, the only option is to go back to the save point and start again, generally it clears the second time.

Been having a good time with this hack. I have a few questions and notes regarding my playthrough, so I'd appreciate some dev input :)

1. Is there a way to get Roserade in this game? I have a Roselia and I peeked at the battlers folder and saw that Roserade is in fact there, but I've yet to find the Shiny Stone.
2. Following up by the above question, is TM36 Sludge Bomb anywhere? I've just reached Vortex City and have yet to find it.
3. Is it possible to add a Quest Log? I've started a bunch of side quests but keeping track of them is a little hard, especially since a bunch of them require a lot of backtracking, like Prof. Oak's.
4. I've been consistently underleveled between each segment and grinding is a chore. I do have the Lucky Egg and Exp. Share but is there anywhere to access a good grinding spot and/or EXP Candies, considering how I've got some throughout my journey?
5. I picked up the Metagrossite but I've yet to find Beldum anywhere. Any hints?

A few possible bugs:
- I got the TM98 Rock Smash, but since it's a one-time use, if I were to teach it to a mon and then replace it, I could potentially softlock myself. I didn't see anywhere else to pick up this TM in the town or in a future location. Do mind that it's not a HM, which I assume it's supposed to be.
- The interaction with the Mint merchant is repeatable, meaning I could buy multiple Rash Mints.
- I may be wrong about this but I think the Itemfinder doesn't work properly. I picked it up and then activated it and kept getting "no response", but about 4-5 steps to my left was a hidden Ultra Ball in a bush.
- Whenever I save it still says "Badges: 0", despite me being late into the game. Is it possible to maybe change it to "Chapter" or any indicator of how many Kings I've defeated?

Cool game though! If this is your first work, I'm excited for what you might make in the future. I'm hoping to finish this within the next few days.

Regarding the shiny stone, I think it should be available in the black market, not too sure about Suldge Bomb, you can still check there though. For the new game I plan to make, will definitely add a quest log, and about leveling, the Chansey dude is the only bet for now. Also yes, Beldum is available.

For the bugs, I'll be sure to fix them in a patch that I plan to add in a few months. Thanks for the valuable feedback! :woop:

I'm feeling a little stupid, but can you please tell me the code for the power plant under the auction house?
There's no indicator anywhere as to which color exactly is what number (as in, the position), and the brown/yellow/orange box I can't even decipher which color it's supposed to be. Same for the blue and indigo ones.

Thanks in advance!
